This weekend will mark a momentous occasion for rock fans as two of the biggest names in rock music will have their concert tickets go on sale this weekend. Both Eric Clapton and Bon Jovi will start selling tickets to their 2013 tour dates beginning this Saturday. Both tours will mark the return of their respective artists after a brief hiatus from the industry and both tours will are expected to sell out quickly. Those who want to get tickets to see either of these rock legends perform in 2013 will want to act fast on December 1st when tickets go on sale.
While fans of the rock world will undoubtedly be clamoring for tickets to see both Clapton and Bon Jovi play live; the rap world got an announcement of their own this week when rap icon, Kanye West made his own concert announcement. The rapper and singer announced that he would be playing three shows at the end of 2012 at the Revel Casino in Atlantic City, NJ. This will be one of the first solo performances by the rapper in some time, as he has been focusing on his fashion career. Based on previous ticket sales for the rapper and the fact that no official tour has been announced for any time in the near future, fans can be sure these tickets will sell out right away. Tickets will go on sale next month for all three show dates.
Up the road from Atlantic City, NJ in New York City live performance fans of a different type are waiting for a completely different type of live performance ticket to go on sale. It was announced this week that after much speculation the wildly popular Cirque du Soleil live performance event will be making its way to New York City. The latest event, called Cirque du Soleli Totem will debut in Queens starting in March of 2013. The live acrobatic performance has been speculated to make its way to New York for an extended stay for many years; and the announcement has many from all over the country excited. The sports and music worlds have been dealt a number of treats this week just in time for the holidays, and these big announcements have fans of all types excited for the months ahead. One of these big announcements came from one of the biggest legends to ever enter the music business; this of course is the incomparable Eric Clapton. The legendary musician announced this week that he is planning a major tour for 2013. The tour will kick off on March 14th of 2013 in Phoenix Arizona at the massive US Airways Center and will continue on through the spring. Tickets for the event will go on sale November 30th.
One of the other big announcements of the week came from the world of NASCAR and came hot on the heels of their highly successful Sprint Cup preview earlier this month. The successful event proved that some of the biggest planned changes for the 2013 NASCAR season will be implemented for the upcoming year of racing. One of the biggest changes will be the introduction of the new “Gen 6” race cars; vehicles designed to operate more like street cars. New changes like this were announced along with the reveal that tickets for these 2013 events are now on sales for those who are ready to get in on plenty of NASCAR action next season.
Other big sports news was delivered this week as well; with this news coming straight from the NFL. The National Football League announced the official date for the annual NFL Pro Bowl. This year’s Pro Bowl will take place on January 27th and will feature a competition between the biggest names in professional football today. The yearly event will be taking place at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, HI and will take place in the week before the Superbowl. Those who want to see the event live and experience this one-of-a-kind display of athleticism can get their tickets to the event now. With the Thanksgiving holiday officially over with for the year, it’s time for the Broadway world to get in the Christmas spirit. Based on the recent announcements of the week, the city of New York is ready for the holidays and already in the Christmas Spirit. One of the most notable Christmas productions to kick off this holiday season is A Christmas Story The Musical. The play is based off the hit 1983 hit film of the same night. As one of the most popular Christmas movies of all times has officially launched on the Broadway stage as of this week and will run through the 30th of December. Tickets to see the musical adaptation of this comedic holiday tale are now available to the public.
Those looking for another opportunity to see a comedic take on the holiday season, will want to check out another movie to musical adaptation with the Broadway production of Elf. This Broadway show is based off the hit Will Ferrell comedy of the same name and follows the story of Buddy the Elf; an orphan human who grows up thinking he is an elf until he travels to New York City in search of his biological father. This production is now running at Al Hirschfield Theatre and will run through January 6th so those who want tickets to this family-friendly musical experience.
Another family-friendly production for theatre-goers to consider is Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical. The Broadway will be performing at the Theatre at Madison Square Garden and will feature the tale told in the beloved original children’s book. The production announced this week that tickets are now officially on sale for the 2012 play show times. However, the show will only run from December 13th-December 30th so those who are looking to see the production live will want to act quickly when getting their tickets.
Broadway holiday productions aren’t all centered on the Christmas holiday thanks in large part to Jackie Hoffman’s A Chanukah Charol. This much talked-about Broadway production makes a major twist to the classic Christmas tale and features the work of Jackie Hoffman in a play that is described as a pseudo-autobiographical one-woman show. Now that the Thanksgiving holiday has passed, this week the music world was given a big treat for the holidays as the dates and lineup for an outstanding new musical event were revealed this week. This event is known as SnowGlobe Festival 2012 and it will run from December 29-31 in South Lake Tahoe, California. The event will feature over 40 acts that will all be scheduled in between other events during the long weekend. The event will be headlined by Dadmau5 and Wiz Khalifa. Tickets are on sale now and expected to sell out quickly so those who want to see the event live will not want to wait.
Another big announcement came from an entertainer of a different breed this week, when the legendary master of horror, Stephen King, made an announcement to the public. Starting this week, on November 24th, the author will be entertaining audiences with a new medium when a new stage version of the Stephen King novel Misery hits the stage. The stage adaptation will feature the work of Academy Award winner William Goldman who will be taking the story from the 1990 film adaptation and transforming it for the stage. The new production is now playing live at Bucks County Playhouse and fans of the author and of the original film will not want to miss the opportunity to see this unique performance live on the stage. For those who are looking for a less-frightening live performance event to attend, there is the highly anticipated debut of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella. The company behind the new Broadway play released a statement this week revealing that the casting for the play has been complete and that previews for the production would be beginning on January 24, 2013. The play will then officially open on February 24th, 2012. The production will feature a new twist as it will be Cinderella’s turn to rescue the prince in this live musical event that is designed to be fun for the whole family. Tickets to see the preview performances of Cinderella are not available to the public and tickets for the live shows, beginning in February of next year are slated to go on sale soon. With the holiday season in full swing, theatre goers will have plenty of opportunities not only to see some of the biggest classic and long running productions that can bring fans of the theatre and families together, but they can also see a number of special holiday-themed productions as well. One of these productions is the Old Globe’ Grinch. This is the 15th annual production of this San Diego live theatrical show and it will feature talents such as Steve Blanchard, Steve Gunderson and Jason Edward Cook. This musical which features the classic Dr. Seuss tale, over the top costumes and wonderful musical selections will open November 23rd. Tickets are on sale now and those who wish to see the performance live can expect to find show times running through the holiday season. Since production numbers are limited those who want to see the Grinch will want to make sure they get their tickets quickly as they won’t have an opportunity to see the production again until next holiday season.
Meanwhile, while theater fans can go see Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! to hear the tale of the villainous Grinch and his attempt to steal Christmas; theater fans can go see the new production of Elf in order to take a completely different approach to getting in the holiday spirit. The hit production, based off the wildly successful major motion picture, features the story of Buddy the Elf and his attempt to spread Christmas cheer to those in New York City and around the world who have lost sight of the Christmas spirit. However, those who want to see Elf live this year will be given a special treat. The brilliant minds behind this production announced this week that there would be a new over the top opening number in the production featuring an original song called “Happy All the Time” this is just one of the many additions being included in the 2012-2013 productions of Elf and one of the many ways in which this play is slated to be even more spectacular this holiday season. While many all over the country are gearing up for the holiday season to begin, there is much more than turkey to be thankful for this week for music fans. This week has marked the announcement of many big name tours that will be hitting the road beginning in 2013. Among these tour announcements was reveal that Nelly Furtado would be hitting to road beginning in 2013 for her Canadian tour. The tour called The Spirit Indestructible Tour will begin January 2013. Tickets for the concert will go on sale next week and be available to the public. Meanwhile, pop rock group Matchbox 20 also made an announcement for their 2013 tour. This tour will begin with 39 performances in the ‘northern’ leg of the tour and will also star in 2013. Tickets will go on sale for this tour at the end of the month.
However, very few announcements could top the announcement from legendary rock band Bon Jovi. The long time rock group made an announcement this Wednesday revealing they would be adding United States dates to their 2013 stadium and arena tour. The current 2013 tour has the band touring through Canada, and many American fans feared the worse that the band would not add United States dates to their tour. However on Wednesday the band released an official statement that beginning on February 9, 2013 the group would also be visiting stadiums in the United States. The US leg of the tour will begin in Uncasville, CT and will end in the band’s home state of New Jersey.
The tour marks the first time the band has performed together since 2010 and the tour will feature music from their first album in more than two years. The first set of tickets for the United States leg of the tour will officially go on sale beginning on November 30, 2012. Fans will want to act quickly to get tickets, if the Canadian ticket sales were any indication of how the United States ticket sales will be then many of these large arenas will sell out when the rock group comes to town.

This week the city of New York will be treated to a unique opportunity to buy tickets to one of the biggest events to come to the Big Apple in Years. Cirque Du Soleil Totem, the new live Cirque show is coming to New York City next spring and tickets to the event will start going on sale beginning on November 20th for members of the Cirque Club and to the general public on November 30th. Cirque du Soleli is the most popular live production of its type in today’s live performance world and the performance Totem has already been performed in front of 2 million audience members. Finally, after years of waiting, the live Cirque du Soleli production will finally be making its way to New York City. Those who want to get tickets to see the production while it is in New York City will want to act very quickly as these productions are known for being some of the fastest selling live performances on the planet.
This wasn’t the only big announcement to hit the Broadway this week. Hip hop fans were given a treat this week when it was revealed that Grammy winning performer; R. Kelly will be bringing his multi-part hit musical “Trapped in the Closet’ to the Broadway stage. The new ‘Hip Hopera’ is expected to have a 2013 release date and tickets will start going on sale after the New Year. The announcement came after R. Kelly announced he would be adding new chapters to his current chapters of the hit musical selection.
Kelly is not the only celebrity who will be making their way to the Broadway stage. Hit television and movie actress and notable celebrity Katie Holmes will be making her way to the Broadway stage this winter in what promises to be one of the hottest tickets this winter. The actress has garnered a great deal of attention since she announced that she would be hitting the Broadway stage in a live production of Dead Accountants. Holmes will be playing a major role in the production and has already garnered a great deal of praise for her role. The production will officially open next week on November 27th and tickets are on sale now. With many theater-goers anxious to see Katie Holmes is a new role live on the Broadway stage, those who want to see her live are encouraged to act quickly to see her performance live.

This weekend, several big live musical productions will be appearing on the Broadway stages just in time for the holiday season. The highly anticipated world premier of The Twenty Seventh Man, a stage production that has been adapted from author Nathan Englander’s short story of the same title opened on November 18th at The Public Theater in New York City. Currently the production is slated to run through December 9th. The production, which takes place in a Soviet prison in 1952, will be performed under the production of Barry Edelstein. Tickets are on sale for the production now. However, since the play is only slated to run through December 8th at this date.
New York isn’t the only place where big productions have premiered this week. The highly anticipated Rocky the Musical made its world premiere this week of November 18th. The production is co-produced by the star of the original Rocky movies. The production was written in English and then translated into German, providing some unique challenges for actors, however, the original English version was written for a reason. The musical is headed for the Broadway stage in 2013. Those who want to see the production live in Germany through the end of year can buy tickets to see the musical now. The announcement about the 2013 intended release in the United States was released this week and while tickets have not officially gone on sale yet, those looking to get tickets to this production should expect tickets to go on sale in 2013.
Meanwhile in the United States at NYC’s Signature Theatre Company, a Pulitzer-Prize winning play had its own on stage debut. November 18th marked officially the opening of The Piano Lesson, a production created by the late August Wilson and that features a family legacy, ghosts and mystery. The play features a selection of top actions including Eric Lenox Abrams, Chuck Cooper and Jason Dirden. Currently the play is scheduled for an extended run to December 16th although more dates may be added to the production. Tickets are currently on sale and fall under the new Signature Ticket Initiative: A Generation of Access; and will be offered for discounted prices. In order to get tickets to this award winning production, theater-goers are encouraged to act fast.

This weekend, pop and country fans alike will experience a big treat as country superstar Taylor Swift will be putting tickets on sale for her upcoming 2013 Red Tour. The highly anticipated tour was announced earlier in the month where Swift revealed she would be touring across North America with Ed Sheeran as her opening act. Every concert will have affordable ticket options for fans, per the request of Swift herself. Based on the success of her previous tours, fans can expect tickets to the event to sell out quickly. This weekend will include sales for Washington DC, Pittsburgh, Tampa, Detroit, Toronto, Kansas City, Chicago and Los Angeles. Tickets will officially be one sale this weekend on Saturday for the aforementioned events.
Meanwhile, another big name country and pop sensation; Carrie Underwood Tickets for her upcoming 2013 concerts are on sale this weekend. Saturday will be a chance for fans to get tickets to a few of the dates that were added to the extension of her current concert in cities such as Charleston, Jacksonville, Fort Wayne, Portland, Milwaukee, Omaha and Las Vegas. The tour, called the Blown Away Tour sold out most arenas on its first leg and the second leg of the tour is expected to sell out as well, so fans will not want to delay.
While tickets will undoubtedly be selling fast for these country superstars, no seats will be filling up quite as fast as the seats in the Homestead-Miami Speedway this weekend. This is because the annual NASCAR Spring Cup Series event will be taking place at the speedway this Sunday, November 18th. This is one of the biggest and most frequented events not only in all of NASCAR but in professional sports as well. Last year more than 73,000 fans showed up to the Miami speedway for the finale, and those looking to attend can expect the same type of numbers as well. Fortunately for fans the massive speedway can accommodate thousands, but that doesn’t mean they should expect to get tickets at the door. This Thursday the Broadway stage will be treated to a unique treat when the highly anticipated new production Scandalous: The Life and Trial of Aimee Semple; a new musical from the creative minds of Kathie Lee Gifford, David Friedman and David Pomeranz. The production promises to bring a form of entertainment to the stage unlike one that has ever been seen before as it mixes together religion, drugs, sex, romance and the trials and tribulations of celebrity life. After a series of successful preview dates, the show will enjoy its official opening at the Neill Simon Theatre this week. The production received a slight delay after the November 14th scheduled opening of the play was moved back following a vocal issue with lead Carolee Carmello. Fortunately for fans, after the day long delay, Carmello announced she would be retuning to the stage and that the opening would be on November 15th.
While this premier promises to be one Broadway fans won’t soon forget, those who are looking for some pre-holiday entertainment will also have plenty to see in the week leading up to Thanksgiving. Although there will be no productions on the actual day of Thanksgiving there are plenty of Broadway productions that will get theater goers in the mood for the holidays playing on the eve of Thanksgiving. Those who are looking for a play to get the whole family together in time for the holidays can see special afternoon and evening productions of The Lion King. This family family production, and one of the highest grossing Broadway musicals of all time will be playing in time for the holidays, as will several special holiday-only productions running just for the holiday season.
A live musical production of A Christmas Story will be held during the week of Thanksgiving through the holiday season and the New Year as it provides a unique opportunity for the whole family to see this famed holiday tale told live with fantastic costumes, a new and original score as well as plenty of singing and dancing to get the whole family ready for the holiday season.
