With the week of Christmas celebrations ahead the official Christmas week kicked off with a blast with several big announcements in the entertainment world. However for most people this week is all about seeing Christmas-themed shows, music and events. Although the NHL season is currently suspended indefinitely, there will be plenty of NFL action on Christmas Eve with Monday Night football. The NBA will also be partaking in the holiday celebrations with several games taking place on Christmas day. This includes a highly anticipated match up between the new Brooklyn Nets as they take on the highly rated Boston Celtics on Christmas Day. Tickets for these games are still on sale and available for those looking to get in on all of the holiday action.

However, this week in entertainment isn’t only about big Christmas sports events, it is also all about the holiday themed celebrations. This of course includes the Dr. Suess’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas production at Madison Square Garden. This is a live entertainment event unlike any other that is sure to fill the seats of the massive venue each and every night. Tickets are available to the event now and will be one sale through December 30th.

Those who are looking to see a more traditional Broadway plays can enjoy seeing the limited time performances of the holiday musical Elf. This live musical production is based on the hit Will Ferrell movie of the same name and will be running at Al Hirschfield Theatre through the New Year. Those who want to see another modern day Christmas tale can check out all of the action in A Christmas Story Live. This is a musical rendition of the cult classic holiday film that follows the story of a Midwestern Christmas.

This event will be playing live through the week at Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Tickets for the production are still on sale and are available to all who are looking to get in or stay in the holiday spirit. Those who want to see these three limited time productions will want to act fast when getting their tickets as they will only be available for a limited time and only through the holiday season.
