By David Jacobs | December 28th, 2012

With New Year’s Eve on the horizon, several live theatrical productions will be making their final performances this week before closing for the holiday season. Productions including Elf, A Christmas Story, and A Christmas Carol will be making their final performances this week and into next week so those looking to get tickets for these shows before they end for the season will want to act fast. The world of Broadway was dealt some other big news this week with the death of two iconic Broadway actors who have recently passed away, Charles Durning and Jack Klugman. Both actors passed away this Monday and Broadway will be paying tribute to the fallen actors this Friday evening during all of their performances to observe the passing of these two talented performers.

All Broadway productions will be paying homage to the actors. This includes the highly anticipated Broadway musical “Dead Accountants” starring famed movie actress Katie Holmes. The production, which was highly anticipated by both Broadway fans and fans of the actress just announced it will be closing two months early and play its final performance on January 6th. Those who want to see Holmes take the stage live and see this modern musical in person will want to get their tickets now before the production ends.

Meanwhile in the world of sports, all eyes are on the NFL playoffs, more specifically all eyes are on who will be making a playoff berth in the final stretch of the season. This has had football fans focusing their attention on the Sunday Night football game between the Redskins and Cowboys in which the two power house teams will be facing off against one another to determine who will win the NFC East and earn an automatic playoff position. Tickets for this big Sunday night game have been selling fast as more fans than ever are looking to see this historic rivalry unfold as the stakes are now higher than they have been in years. Those who are looking to see all of the action live can still get some of the standing room only tickets to the Sunday night game being played at FedEx Field in Washington DC. This match up is sure to be one of the biggest of the season; so football fans will not want to miss out. Will you be getting your tickets to the big game?
