This week in the live theatre world; numerous announcements were revealed regarding the world of live music. One of the biggest announcements came when with the announcement of a Woody Allen musical called Bullets Over Broadway. This unique musical production will follow the film of the same name and will feature the five time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman. With this successful Broadway legend and the talent of Woody Allen behind the production, this new musical is already highly anticipated as many are anxious to see Allen’s talents on the Broadway stage. This musical adaptation of the Woody Allen Academy Award nominated film was announced this week and is scheduled to premiere during the 2013-2014 Broadway season.

Audiences will be treated to the new opening of the highly anticipated live musical production Viva Forever! This theatrical performance will feature an array of songs made famous by the 1990s pop music group; the Spice Girls. The musical was developed in hopes to bring the world of live theatrical productions to a younger generation of fans. This music along with an original book by Jennifer Saunders will tell a new tale of following your dreams, friendships and of course ‘girl power’ the production officially opens on December 11th and will call the London Piccadilly Theater its home.

This production received rave reviews in its previews which began in the end of November and promises to have audiences up singing along and dancing in the aisles the entire time. Tickets are now officially on sale for the production and available to the public and audiences will want to make sure they get their tickets as soon as they can to see this unique production live.

Meanwhile, across the pond in the United States another big live musical production is also slated to kick off on December 11th; the Broadway production of The Other Place. This musical will follow the mysterious tale of the unpredictable life of a doctor played by Laurie Metcaff. This musical found a great deal of success Off-Broadway and also featured the talents of Laurie Metcaff in the starring role. The production will officially open on December 11th and will call the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre home. Tickets are now available for this production and are available to the public and those who want to see this production on the Broadway stage will want to get their tickets as soon as they are able.

This week the entertainment world was given several big announcements regarding upcoming events in the theatre, sports and music realms. The announcement began with a big reveal from the Broadway world when the highly anticipated musical Golden Boy opened up on Broadway this week. The 1937 story received a makeover and retelling that will bring the classic tale to life in a whole new way. The new production will feature former War Horse star Seth Numrich in the starring role. The premier of the new Broadway musical is set for this week and tickets for those looking to see the event live on the Broadway stage are now available to the public.

Meanwhile, the final match ups for the 2013 college bowl series was announced earlier this week and it was revealed that the BCS title showdown would take place between top ranked Notre Dame; and number two team Alabama. Ticket sales have already set records for this upcoming matchup so those who are looking to get tickets to see the national championships live will want to act quickly. Along with the announcement about the BCS title game; match ups for the Cotton, Chik-Fil-A, Rose Bowl and Fiesta Bowl; all big college bowl games were also revealed. All current bowl game tickets are now on sale and available to the public just in time for bowl season which is set to kick off after the holidays.

While announcements from the sports and theatre world have had many fans excited, no announcement matched the recent reveal from Stevie Nicks and her band Fleetwood Mac. The iconic rock group announced this week that they will be heading out on a 34 day tour across North America and visit venues in both the United States and Canada. It was also revealed that singer Stevie Nicks and guitarist Lindsey Buckingham will be reuniting their partnership to create new material for the tour. This will be the first time in more than a decade that the two musicians have worked together. This tour will mark one of the first tours for the group in years and has fans of the group anxious to hear some of the band’s classic hits as well as new songs set to be released on the band’s upcoming 2013 album. As the holiday season quickly approaches, there are many music and concert fans who are not only getting ready for the most wonderful time of the year, but those who are gearing up for 2013 and all of the exciting live music events that this year has in store. Recent announcements from the music world have revealed a number of big, exciting concert events that will be taking place in 2013 and that are sure to delight music fans of all types.

One of the biggest announcements came from one of the biggest music legends in the history of rock: Eric Clapton. The guitarist revealed earlier this month that he would be taking part in a major United States tour in 2013. The concert is set to kick off on March 14, 2013 in Phoenix, Arizona at the US Airways Center. The concert will go on to include 15 different cities across the United States. Tickets are currently on sale for all concert events on this upcoming tour.

In addition to the Eric Clapton announcement, another rock legend, Jon Bon Jovi announced that he and his band, Bon Jovi would also be taking part in a 2013 tour. This live tour event will be taking the rock legends across the United States in their “Because We Can Tour” the concert will bring the band up close and personal with fans from all over the country and will be taking place throughout the spring of 2013. Tickets are currently available for most city stops on this nation-wide tour.

The rock world was also treated to a concert announcement from the Dave Matthews Band; one of the most popular live rock performance groups over the past few decades. The group, which is known for touring usually only exclusively in the summer currently has tickets on sale for their winter tour, which will keep them on the road until the spring of 2013; those who  want to see this band live will want to act fast in getting their tickets before the tour concludes.

Finally, the country world was also treated to big concert announcements from two of the princesses of country music; Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood. Carrie Underwood revealed earlier this month that she would be adding dates to her “Blown Away” tour due to the popularity of the tour and that she will be staying on the road throughout 2013. The second leg of this tour kicks off after the holidays and tickets are currently on sale.

With the new year fast approaching, for college football fans it means its time for college bowl season. Most importantly, it means the BCS National Championship game. Ticket sales were officially announced this week when it was decided that undefeated Notre Dame would play against the number two team in the country; the Alabama Crimson Tide. With the close of 2012 fast approaching; many new announcements have been revealed this week regarding the 2013 schedule for live performances and tours. One of the biggest announcements to come this week came with Trokia Entertainment announced the cast and the kickoff of the national tour of the highly anticipated musical Priscilla Queen of the Desert the Musical. The new tour will take the over-the-top performance to venues across the country; beginning in Minneapolis, MN. The production will kick off at the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis on January 8, 2013. Tickets for the tour will go on sale later in the month.

Meanwhile, 2013 will also usher in another classic musical when the hit The Phantom of the Opera gets a remake for the 2013 season. Broadway actor Marc Kudisch announced this week that he will be directing the world premiere of Neil Berg’s The Phantoms of the Opera; which will hit the stage in 2013. The live event and new take on the classic love story will debut on April 4-5, 2013 at Rudder Auditorium. Tickets have yet to go on sale as the official casting won’t be made until early 2013 after auditions are completed in New York City. Fans of the original will want to keep their eyes open for official ticket sales in January as this remake already promises to be a must-see for theatre fans.

Another tour announcement also came this week when it was revealed that the wildly successful tour of the live production of Jesus Christ Superstar will also return to the stage in 2013. The tour, which just ended a U.K. arena tour will resume in March of 2013 and mark the shows 40th anniversary. The Andrea Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice production will hit the road in March and feature Tim Minchin, Chris Moyles, Alexander Hanson, Ben Forester and former Spice Girl, Melanie C. The tour will begin performances at Nottingham’s Capital FM Arena on March 10th and then tour around the world to arenas all over the globe. Based on the past success of the previous arena tour; tickets are expected to sell out right away for the event. Broadway

This week marked the opening of one of the most highly anticipated acts to make its way to the Broadway stage with the premier of Dead Accountants. This new Broadway number is opening over the weekend and will feature the work of several big name performers and industry legends as well as a performance from television and movie actress Katie Holmes. The play opened officially on November 29th and this week will feature a normal schedule of performances. The play will be taking place at the Music Box in New York.

Meanwhile, another big premier to open this Saturday December 1st is a new revamping of the Stephen Schwartz musical Working. The play which originally appeared on Broadway in 1978 will make its triumphant return to the stage in New York with previews showing now and the official debut on December 12th. Those who want to see this famed musical live in a whole new light will want to act quickly when getting their tickets to this event.

While Working promises to be an elaborate Broadway production and features all of the bells and whistles fans have come to expect of the original work; those looking for a different type of play can treat themselves to the opening of The Anarchist; a two woman play opening on Sunday December 2nd on Broadway. This production will features the works of actress Debra Winger and Pulitzer Prize winning author Patti LuPone. Those who are looking to see this show live; which has already garnered a great deal of critical attention, will want to act fast to get tickets to this play when it opens this week.

While Broadway fans have plenty of new show announcements to keep them busy this week with new performances to attend; one of the biggest announcements of the week came on Friday when it was revealed that the wildly popular musical Spiderman: Turn Off the Dark, would be getting a new star for its matinee performances. Television start Jake Epstein will be taking on the role of Spider Man and Peter Parker and will begin performances on December 8th. With a new leading man in the iconic role; many critics and fans alike are eager to see how the actor will take on the part.
