This week, in the world of live entertainment, there has been a great deal of buzz around the world of Broadway. This week, tickets officially went on sale for the Burlesque Drama The Nance. The highly anticipated production will be making its Broadway debut on April 15th, with previews scheduled for the Lyceum Theatre for March 21st. The Broadway production, which will be starring two time Tony Award winner Nathan Lane, is slated to call the Lincoln Center Theatre home. Tickets are now officially on sale for the Douglas Carter Bean drama and tickets are available to the public for both the previews and the official production of the highly anticipated musical.
This upcoming week in the world of Broadway has even more going on thanks to some major news from some of the biggest productions in all of Broadway. This week marks the last week in productions for four shows: “Manilow on Broadway,” “Mary Poppins, “The Other Place” and “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolf”. Tickets to all four of these shows are on sale now for those who want to see the production before they end this week.
While several shows will be making their final curtain call, a few additional shows will be making their debut on the Broadway Stage. This week, on March 3rd audiences will be treated to the official opening for “Cinderella” on Broadway. After rave reviews regarding the previews of this Roger and Hammerstein production, tickets are sure to sell out fast for this musical which will be taking place at the Broadway Theatre.
This week on March 3rd, the official previews for the highly anticipated production of “Kinky Boots” will be premiering. Tickets for the Cindy Lauper production are currently on sale now and those who are looking to preview the show before its officially opening can still get their tickets to see the previews for the production or to get tickets once “Kinky Boots” makes its way to Al Hirschfeld Theatre for its official opening on April 4th. However, one of the biggest announcements of the week came when it was revealed that the preview for the production of “Lucky Guy” would be beginning this week. One of the biggest live entertainment events of the year was revealed this week when it was announced new Broadway production of “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” would be coming to the Broadway stage this spring. Previews for the event will begin on March 4th with the official Broadway opening of this iconic musical production being March 20th. Those who want to get tickets to see the production live at the Cort Theatre will be able to buy tickets to see the production live. Another big announcement came from the multi-talented iconic singer and songwriter Jackson Browne. The veteran performer will be hitting the road this summer on an acoustic tour that will take him around the country. The tour will start June 19th in Salt Lake City, Utah. The performer will be playing songs from his past 40 years in the business during this latest tour event. Tickets for this epic tour, which will end on July 5th in Atlantic City, NJ are on sale now. This week, it was revealed that 2013 would be the year of Faster Horses Festival. This year will be the inaugural event for this music festival which is slated to be a three day country music event. The festival will be held in Brooklyn, MI from July 19th-21st. When the festival was announced it was revealed that by country music acts such as Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean would be headlining the first ever event and that two dozen other acts would be joining the lineup. The 2013 Faster Horses Festivals will feature two stages, nine campgrounds, food trucks and more. Tickets for the event will be sold in three day festival passes. This week iconic performer, Jimmy Buffett and his band, the Coral Reefer Band, announced that he would be officially adding additional stops on the 2013 tour around the United States. The 2013 tour, which kicks off this spring, will now keep the performer on the road for most of the summer of 2013. Tickets for the tour dates, including the recently added dates are on sale to the public now.
While many will be turning to the old favorite, Jimmy Buffet in order to get tickets to see him perform live after decades in the industry, those who are looking for something new in terms of live entertainment will be treated to a special entertainment spectacular this week. The live musical ‘Your Hardbody Handbook” starts its premiers this week in New York City. This new American musical, inspired by real events is based on the 1997 documentary of the same name; making it one of the first musical Broadway productions to be based on a documentary. From the creative minds behind Memphis and Jersey Boys comes this new production that takes a look at modern American life and features hit musical selections from acclaimed recording artist Trey Anastasio from Phish. This production promises to be unlike any other in the work of live theatre. Previews start February 23rd and tickets are on sale for the production now.
After an announcement came last week revealing that Justin Timberlake and Jay Z would be heading out on the road for a 2013 summer tour, this week the two performers announced more information on their upcoming tour. The duo revealed the official line up for their tour which will be called the “Legends of Summer Tour” the Grammy Award winning artists will be heading out on the road to some of the biggest venues in the country beginning with a July 17th performance in Toronto. The concert will keep the performers on the road through August 16th when their final concert will be played in Miami. With ticketing announcements for the 2013 music festival season in full swing, many music fans have been anxiously awaiting news about their favorite music festivals. Fortunately for fans, this week marked the reveal of the 2013 Firefly Festival concert lineup. This is the second annual Firefly Festival and the show hopes to follow in the footsteps of its wildly successful first year. The festival, which takes place at the Woodlands of the Dover International Speedway is scheduled to take place from June 21-23rd. The festival is slated to have acts such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Foster the People and More. In concert tour news, the Grammy award winning band, Fun has officially announced their upcoming 2013 tour dates. Tickets for the summer concert tour officially went on sale this week. The award winning rock band will be heading out on a tour that visits 20 different U.S. cities. Those who are looking to get tickets to this event can get their tickets now to see this band take the stage live as tickets went on sale on February 13th.
Another big rock music group, The Lumineers, also announced that they would be heading out on a tour around the world to deliver fans with their unique country folk-rock sound. The band, who is set to start their European tour this week, has revealed that once they return from their European tour, the group will be heading out on a North American outing which will start on April 19th in Berkeley, CA. This North American tour will feature 16 different performances. Those who are looking to see The Lumineers live on their North American leg will now be able to get tickets to see the group when they tour around the United States. This week also marked the official kick off of Pink’s 2013 tour. Starting this week, the performer will be touring around the country along with opening acts The Hives and City and Colour. This week it was revealed that famed boxer and celebrity Mike Tyson will be kicking off a new tour featuring his one man show titled Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth. The live event which was first seen on Broadway in the summer of 2012 will start a new tour beginning this week on February 13th at the Murat Theatre in Indianapolis. The tour will head out on the road and continue visiting venues across the country through May of 2013. Tickets for the tour are on sale now.
In other news, the lineup was revealed this week for the 2013 Essence Music Festival lineup. The annual music festival takes place every year over the Fourth of July weekend in New Orleans, Louisiana. The festival revealed that this week’s event would be taking place from July 4th-7th and that headliners will include Beyonce, New Edition, Brandy, Jill Scott, Maxwell and LL Cool J. This unique festival also has speakers such as Al Sharpton, Donnie McClurkin and Dr. Steve Perry during the weekend long event. However, the biggest festival music announcement of the week came with the reveal of the 2013 Hangout Festival lineup. This week one of the biggest acts in music today, Bruno Mars, announced that he would be heading out on the road for a brand new world tour. Mars revealed the information this week on his appearance on The Ellen Degeneres Show, and announced that the new tour will be heading out around the globe. The singer will kick off the tour in North America this summer and stay out on the road while visiting cities like Atlanta, Los Angeles, Chicago and Miami during the summer. After the North American leg of the tour wraps up, the singer will be hitting the road for the European leg of the tour that will keep him overseas for weeks. While on tour, the talented performer will be joined by pop sensation Ellie Goulding. Tickets for the event go on sale next week and will be available to the public at that time.
While man fans of the pop superstar Bruno Mars have been anxiously awaiting this tour news; the biggest announcement of the week came from two of today’s leading performers. After a wildly successful performance at the Grammy Awards, singer Justin Timberlake announced that he would be heading on the road with his co-performer for the Grammys, Jay-Z on a new stadium tour.

Recent concert tour news has revealed that some of the biggest concerts in the history of music are slated to take place this summer. Last week, tickets officially went on sale for Beyonce’s 2013 tour titled The Mrs. Carter Show. However, due to the overwhelming early success of these concert ticket sales, the performer has revealed that she will be adding two additional dates to her concert, including an additional date at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY and a second concert performance in Washington DC. Tickets for the second concert will go into pre-sale on February 13th with tickets being offered to the general public on Friday February 15th.
Tickets are also currently on sale for the new summer tour being launched by legendary singer Tim McGraw. The Grammy Award winning artist has announced a new tour to promote his 2013 record, “Two Lanes of Freedom.” The new tour will keep the performer on the road for much of the summer, beginning on May 2nd in Birmingham, Alabama. The tour will continue on through the end of July with the final performance slated for July 27th, 2013 in Virginia Beach, VA. Tickets go on sale now and are currently available to the public. This week it was revealed that the Electronic Forest Show will once again be taking the music world by storm. This annual music festival is consistently one of the biggest in the business and takes place at Big Wildcat Lake and will not only include performances from different bands like Pretty Lights, Passion Pit and Railroad Earth but will features plenty of activities including horseback rides and disc golf. Tickets for the wildly popular music festival go on sale this week.
While many will be venturing to this music festival to see some of the biggest names in the business at this tour, another touring venture will be headed out on the road for his very own event. Country superstar Toby Keith has announced the schedule for his 2013 North American tour in his summer tour called the “Hammer Down Tour.” The tour will kick off on June 8th in Ozark, Arizona and will include 20 different stops before ending on September 7th in Indianapolis, IN. Tickets will go on sale later this month for this must see tour even.
In other big music news, iconic performer Rod Stewart announced that he would be adding more dates to his current 2013 Vegas shows. After his worldwide tour called the “Life the Life” tour comes to an end this summer; Stewart will be continuing his successful Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. While this week has been all about the beginning of music festival ticket sales for many music fans; there have also been a number of other live entertainment announcements this week. A big announcement came this week from the pop sensation; Fun, the popular group behind the hit 2012 smashes “Some Nights” and “Tonight (We Are Young).” The group revealed that they will be heading out on a new headlining tour across North America this summer beginning in May. Tickets go on sale this week.
Another rock band is announcing their own tour ticket sales as well. This announcement came from veteran rock band Fall Out Boy who revealed that they would be working together once again and heading out on a reunion tour. The group revealed that they would be playing some of their biggest hits on this larger than life tour as well as some new recordings. The tour began this week and the group will make stops in New York and Los Angeles this month as well. Tickets for their one off show in London, which are already projected to sell out quickly, go on sale this Friday to the public. The London show will be held February 25th.
However, the biggest announcement of the week undoubtedly came from the comedy world when it was revealed that popular comedian Daniel Tosh will be hitting the road on a major nation-wide tour. This tour called “The June Gloom Tour” is being presented by Comedy Central and Live Nation and will feature the stand up and host of the Comedy Central show Tosh.0 in a live spectacular event. The entertainer, who already has a reputation for selling out some of the biggest venues in the country during his sporadic live appearances will be hitting the road beginning on May 30th in Salt Lake City for this massive tour. Tosh will be joined by opening act and special guest comedian Jarrod Carmichael. During “The June Gloom Tour” Daniel will be visiting 25 different cities across the country.
