This week it was revealed that three of the biggest bands in the country have plans to head out on the road for summer and fall tour events. The first announcement of the week came from the band The Avett Brothers. The performers revealed this week that they would be headlining the 2013 Newport Folk Festival event. This music festival is slated to take place in Rhode Island from July 26th through July 28th. The band will be headlining the event along with an assortment of other bands. Tickets to see The Avett Brothers take the stage live in this music festival are on sale and available to the public right now.
The hit band The Lumineers also made an announcement of their own this week when they revealed that they were adding more estops to their upcoming North American tour. The Grammy nominated band will be adding additional shows to their tour to promote their platinum-selling debut album. After selling out numerous performances, the band revealed that they would be adding a dozen additional shows to their tour, including stops at Coachella, Bonnaroo and concerts in Minneapolis, Cincinnati and Charleston, SC. Tickets for the newly added dates to this concert are on sale and available to the public now.
Meanwhile, the other big announcement of the week from today’s rock music genre came from Fall Out Boy. The rockers, who have been on a recent touring hiatus, revealed that they would be adding new dates to their 2013 global tour. The band’s tour, which will be supporting their new record Save Rock and Roll; will have the rockers on the road throughout most of the end of the summer and into the fall. The new announcement revealed the band will be adding a second North American leg to the tour that will feature stops at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut, the Barclays Center in New York and the America’s Cup Pavilion in San Francisco.
