Summer Festival Update

This week, new information was revealed about one of the biggest music festivals in the entire country known as MusicFestNW. The multi-venue festival which is held in Portland every year will be taking place this year on September 3rd through September 8th. This year the event will feature performances from more than 30 different artists. One of the many unique facets of this event is that it actually features artists performing in a variety of different venues across Portland. According to reports from the festival, artists will include Animal Collective, The Head and the Heart, Godspeed You!, Young the Giant and more. The festival is actually known for being the third largest music festival in the United States, with thousands attending the vent every year. Those who are interested in getting tickets to see MusicFestNW will find that tickets will go on sale on May 31st.

In other music festival news, new information on the Treasure Island Music Festival was announced this week. The event which takes place on the small island off of the coast of San Francisco, will be celebrating its seventh year this year. According to organizers for the event the concert will be taking place from October 19th- October 20th. Performers for this year’s event will include Beck, Atoms for Peace, James Blake, Animal Collective and more. According to the team behind the event, they are planning on revealing more performers as the festival gets closer. Tickets for the live music spectacular go on sale this Friday, May 31st.

Finally, this week, award winning hip hop performer Frank Ocean announced that he will be heading out on the road for a new tour event. Ocean will be kicking off the ‘You’re Not Dead…2013” e tour this year on June 13th. The tour will take the performer to several cities including Paris, London, Dublin and more. The performer will be wrapping up his tour at the OVO Fest in Toronto. According to an announcement from event coordinators other big name performers such as John Legend, Jay Z and Drake are all expected to make appearances during the tour.
