Chicago Summer Concerts

Of all of the major Chicago concerts of the upcoming year, one of the biggest and most anticipated is undoubtedly the concert event that will feature the wildly popular ‘boy band’ One Direction. The boy band is coming to the First Midwest Bank Amphitheater in Chicago, Illinois to put on a major concert event for fans in the Windy City. The group will be visiting the venue on July 13th, 2013. Here fans of the group can hear the band perform some of their biggest hits of today as well as some of their new recordings performed live. Those who want to see the performers take the stage live will want to get their tickets quickly to see the event.

Another big teen sensation, Justin Bieber will also be heading to the Windy City, in a concert event that fans of all ages have been searching for. The performer will be heading to the famed United Center in Chicago on July 9th, 2013 to performer live. The concert will kick off at 7:00 PM and here fans can see the over-the-top performance style that Justin Bieber has become known for. This concert is expected to be one of the biggest and most popular concert events of the year in Chicago, so getting tickets to see the production unfold may be difficult for some fans.

Right now in the Windy City, the sports scene is bursting with news and updates about the city’s biggest sports teams. Some of the biggest news from the city’s sports scene of course came from the city’s NHL hockey team, the Chicago Blackhawks. After six exciting and very close games, many of which went into over-time, the Blackhawks came out on top in a nail-biting final game against the Boston Bruins. The team scored two goals in the last two minutes to come back from a 1-2 deficit and went on to beat the Bruins in the final seconds of the game and be crowned as the 2013 Stanley Cup champions. With the entire city of Chicago ecstatic about the victory the city has been buzzing about the historic and exciting win. The entire city of Chicago went on to celebrate with a parade and rally that had thousands from all over the city celebrating the big win.


Farm Aid music festival, Pepper and More

This week, the reggae rock group known as Pepper just revealed that they have new plans in place to head out on a new fall tour event. The new tour will feature some of the group’s most popular hits as well as some of their latest songs all performed live. During this tour, the group will make 35 different stops to major markets across the country. The tour will start on September 3rd and will keep the group on the road throughout most of the fall. During this event, the group will be making stops in cities like Atlanta, Boston and Chicago and before they hit the road they will be performing a special three day concert event at the X-Games in Los Angeles on August 2nd.

In other live music news, reports about the official lineup for the 29th annual Farm Aid music festival came out. This year will be the 28th annual Farm Aid event and the organizers behind the event have just revealed that Kacey Musgraves and Jack Johnson will not be appearing at the annual music event. Other performers for the event include other big acts like Dave Matthews, John Mellencamp, Willie nelson and Neil Young. The event will be taking place on September 21st in Saratoga Springs, NY and the event will once again raise money to raise awareness about the loss of family farms and will help raise money to help these individuals keep their farms.

Kiss Tour, Switchfoot Tour and Luke Brian Update

The legendary rock band KISS just announced that they will be heading out on a second leg of their current tour, adding even more stops to this celebration of their 40th anniversary. The band just announced a new video for their most recent single for their upcoming fall release “Monster.” The band will head back out and continue their tour on July 5th, kicking off the event with a performance in Victoria, British Columbia. This second leg of the tour will take the band to visit 26 different major markets across the eastern portion of the United States and Canada. The event will keep the band on the road throughout the month of August. Tickets are on sale now to see the band in this second leg of their tour.

Meanwhile punk rockers Switchfoot have announced their own plans for an upcoming fall outing. The Grammy award winning performers will be heading out on the road to support their ninth studio album “Fading West.” The band is currently wrapping up a summer tour that will conclude on September 6th. Their new fall outing will kick off on September 20th in St. Louis, MO and will feature stops in 29 major markets, keeping the band on the road throughout most of the fall. Tickets for the production are on sale now.

Buffalo Bills, Arctic Monkeys and Mumford & Sons

This week many sports fans were excited to find out that the single game tickets for the upcoming Buffalo Bills regular NFL season will be going on sale soon. Buffalo Bills fans from all over the country have been waiting anxiously for these tickets to go on sale and the team has just announced that they will be available to the public for purchase on Wednesday July 10th. These tickets are some of the first in the NFL to go on sale.

In music news, the hit rock band Mumford & Sons have just announced the dates for their upcoming end of summer tour, as well as rescheduled dates for their tour dates that had to be postponed. The English rock band revealed that they would be heading out on the road for their end of summer tour in North America where they will visit some of the biggest markets both in Canada and the United States. This new tour event will also include four different rescheduled concerts that the group had to cancel last month after one of their members was rushed to the hospital. This end of summer tour is currently slated to kick off on August 26th in Toronto, Canada. From there the band will stay on the road until the end of September. On September 20th the band will conclude their tour with a makeup stop in Bonner Springs, Kansas to do a rescheduled concert. Other make up stops will include stops in New Orleans, Woodlands and Dallas. Tickets for most of these concert events are on sale now and available to the public for those who are interested in seeing this concert event live.

Entertainment Tuesday Update

This week, one of the biggest concert tour events of the year was announced when the hit rock band MGMT made a major announcement about their upcoming tour dates. The rockers revealed that they would be heading out on a new tour event that would take them to several major markets in both the UK and around Europe. This tour event will kick of in Cologne, Germany on September 26th and from there the band will visit 11 different countries during their tour across Europe. This tour will follow their current American summer concert tour. The band has also revealed that they will be making another stateside stop before heading overseas and that on September 6th the group will be performing in Denver, Colorado. The new concert tour event will be promoting their latest album, which is currently untitled. Those who want to see the band perform live will be able to get their tickets to this event now.

Summer Festival Update

This week, new information on some of the biggest festival events of the late summer and early fall were revealed. One of the biggest announcements of the week came from the team behind the popular website Funny or Die. The comedy company is presenting their first comedy festival this summer, an event known as the Oddball Comedy and Curiosity Festival and tickets for the event just went on sale this week. According to a statement from event organizers, the comedy festival will include performances from Flight of the Conchords, Demetri Martin and Dave Chappelle. The comedy tour will make 13 different stops and will officially kick off in Austin, Texas on August 23rd. Tickets are available now.

In other music news, the lineup of the new 2013 Sunset Strip has been revealed. This will be the 6th annual Sunset Strip Music Festival, and this year the event will be taking place on August 1st. According to the announcement the event will feature performances from artists such as Asher Roth, Wale, Street Drum Corps and more. The event will be headlined by famed rockers Linkin Park. This will be the only performance from the band in North America this year.  Tickets to see this festival event live are on sale and available to the public now.

Jimmy Buffett, Jack Johnson and John Mayer

This week it was revealed that iconic performer Jimmy Buffet and his band the Coral Reefer Band will be adding new tour stops on their latest touring event. The singer and his band are already on the road for a current North American run, visiting some of the biggest markets in the country on their “Songs From St. Somewhere” tour. Due to overwhelming popularity, the band will be adding additional stops to this tour event to visit even more markets. Tickets for the newly added tour dates will keep Buffet on the road throughout the fall. Tickets for these newly added stops are on sale now to the public.

Another big name performer, Jack Johnson made his own tour announcement this week revealing that he will be heading out on a new global tour to support his upcoming studio album “From Here to Now to You.” This new event will take Johnson to some of the biggest markets across the globe as he will be playing a number of his biggest hits to date as well as some of his new songs from his latest album. Tickets went on sale this week for these stops, which include stays both in North America and abroad.

2013 Stanley Cup finals Update

When the 2013 Stanley Cup finals first got underway, hockey fans knew that it would be an exciting matchup between the two elite teams. However, no fans were expecting what they would see in this exciting game one event. As the Chicago Blackhawks and the Boston Bruins took the ice, one of the most riveting games in professional hockey got underway. A game that would eventually put the Bruins in a comfortable two goal lead position late in regulation play. However, the Chicago Blackhawks came back with an exciting round of goals that would tie the games at 3-3 and send the match into overtime. This overtime play soon went into triple overtime and after three additional periods of play, it was the Chicago Blackhawks that came out on top 4-3 and leading the series 1-0.

After the exciting opening game of the series, game two began, with the Bruins looking to bounce back from their defeat by the Blackhawks. As the game got underway it seemed as though the teams were seeing a repeat of their exhausting game one, as the matchup headed into overtime. The Bruins took the game into overtime after the Blackhawks got an early 1-0 lead in the series. After tying the game at 1-1 the Bruins scored a quick second goal in overtime to clinch the win and tie the series, proving that this would be one series that fans from either side would not soon forget.

Blondie, Rob Zombie and More

This week iconic rock band, Blondie made a major announcement about their upcoming tour schedule. The band which first rose to fame in the 1980s revealed that they would be heading out on the road for a new live tour event. The tour will be following a summer U.K. and European tour and will bring the band to different venues in the United States. The band revealed that they will be hitting the road with fellow rock outfit X this fall for a tour event that will be kicking off in Hampton Beach, NH on September 5th. The tour will be making stops in 18 different cities on this event and will wrap up on October 4th in New York City.

During these concerts fans can expect to hear some of the band’s most famous songs from their decades in the industry as well as some of their newest recordings performed live. As part of the event, the fans that visit the show will also receive five exclusive mp3 files for five new tracks that the band has yet to release. Tickets for the highly anticipated Blondie tour event go one sale to the public on Friday June 21st.
