This week, several big live entertainment events were announced from both the sports and live music world. One of the first announcements came from the hit rock band, Yellowcard. The rockers revealed their upcoming plans to celebrate the ten year anniversary of their hit album and single “Ocean Avenue.” As part of their anniversary celebration the rock group will be heading out on a new tour event that will take them around to some of the biggest venues in the country. Here they will be performing hits from their album as they also release a new “Ocean Avenue Acoustic” record where they will be releasing new recordings of all 13 songs on this record. The tour will be kicking off in Milwaukee at Henry Maier Festival Park on August 31st. The tour will keep the band on the road through October where they will end their tour at the House of Blues in Hollywood. Tickets to see the band play live are on sale and available to the public now.
Another major rock group, The Eagles, have made an announcement of their own this week as well. The rockers revealed that they will be adding twelve more tour stops to their new 2013 “History of the Eagles Tour.” These new tour stops will keep the band on the road throughout the month of October after this leg of the tour kicks off in Denver, Colorado on October 5th. During the event, the band will be stopping in major cities such as Dallas and St. Louis for their tour event. Tickets for the October shows go on sale to the public on June 8th.
The final big announcement of the week came from the sports world. Last night after the Miami Heat beat the Indiana Pacers in game seven of the Eastern Conference finals for the NBA, the official matchup for the 2013 NBA finals was revealed. The Miami Heat, who are the defending NBA finals champions will be taking on the San Antonio Spurs who won the Western Conference last week. The Miami Heat will be hosting games 1 and 2 (and if necessary 6 and 7) while the San Antonio Spurs will be hosting games 3 and 4 (and 5 if needed). The first game of the finals series will be held June 6th in Miami.
