This week the team at Virgin Mobile made an announcement revealing that they will be hosting their fifth annual FreeFest music festival. This year’s festival will be taking place on September 21st at the Merriweather Post pavilion located in Columbia, Maryland. The festival is designed to raise awareness and funds to help put an end to youth homelessness. According to a new statement from Virgin Mobile, this year’s lineup will include some of the industry’s most popular artists all performing simultaneously on different stages, including Robin Thicket, Vampire Weekend and MGMT as well as Pretty Lights and Madeon, among others. This year’s festival will not only focus on rock artists but on electronic dance music as well. Tickets will go on sale to the public on August 9th for those interested in seeing this festival event live.
In other festival news, it has just been revealed that there will actually be a December music festival this year thanks to the first even True Music Festival that is slated to take place in Scottsdale, Arizona. The event will be reportedly taking place on December 14th. The report on the new music festival has revealed that the festival will include 14 different artists that have yet to be revealed. The team behind the festival has announced however that they are planning on creating a completely unique festival experience with the acts they invite to participate. Pre-sales for tickets to this festival event go on sale beginning August 22nd.
