This week, sports fans have been buzzing now that the NBA has officially kicked off. This week, the official NBA season began on Tuesday night with the must see matchup between the defending NBA champions, the Miami Heat and the Chicago Bulls. Now that the first came of the season has officially taken place, the season is officially underway. After the world series came to a close this week, with the Boston Red Sox coming out on This season, fans will once again be looking to the Miami Heat to see if they can come out on top again for the season. Other big teams to watch this year will be the Chicago Bulls, the San Antonio Spurs and the Oklahoma City Thunder, among others. All week, different teams will be hosting their own opening night events, with several opening games being held this Friday November 1st. On November 1st, teams such as Charlotte, Orlando, Atlanta, and Boston will all be hosting their own opening night events. This is not the only professional league that has kicked off this week either. Now that the winter sports season is in full swing, fans can enjoy the official return of the NHL. Teams to watch this year include the St. Louis Blues, the Colorado Avalanche, the New York Rangers and last year’s league champion the 2013 Stanley Cup winners, the Chicago Blackhawks. This week tickets also went on sale for the annual NHL Winter Classic event. The 2014 NHL Winter Classic will be held this year on New Year’s Day at Michigan Stadium. The unique feature of this game is that it is held entirely outdoors, in a stadium that is expected to be filled to its 115,000 person capacity.
