This week, there were several major announcements to hit the music industry that have fans excited for spring of 2014. One of the first big announcements came regarding Jazz Fest 2014. This year will mark the 45th anniversary of the New Orleans based festival and it will feature several big name performers. This year the festival will take place over two weekends in April and May and will be held at the Fair Grounds Race Course. According to the team behind the event, this year’s lineup is going to include performances from Eric Clapton, Bruce Springsteen, Arcade Fire, Robin Thicke, Foster the People, The Avette Brothers and Christina Aguilera. With such a large star-studded lineup the event is expected to sell out quickly. The first weekend of the two weekend festival will be on April 25th-27th while the second weekend will take place May 1st-4th. Tickets are on sale now and available to the public for those looking to attend this event.
This festival isn’t the only must see concert event for the month of May. Another big announcement this week came from the hit group the Dave Matthews Band. The band annually takes a summer time tour around the country and this year is no exception. According to the rockers they will once again kick off a massive summer tour beginning in May. The band has revealed that the concert event will officially kick off on May 16th in Woodlands, Texas and it will keep them on the road through most of the summer. The outing will include 42 different stops across North America. The concert will actually include a two set performance this year and will feature both an acoustic and electric sets for a unique experience for fans.
The band will stay on the road through the summer before wrapping up the tour with a final show at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre on September 6th. The annual summer outing is often a sell out for the group, so fans will want to act quickly when getting their tickets for the Dave Matthews Band summer show. Tickets go on sale on February 7th.
