Concert News and Info

This week, the official lineup for the 2014 LouFest was released, as the festival will once again bring in several big acts to the city. According to the announcement from festival coordinators, the concert event will feature several headlining acts, including Outkast, Arctic Monkeys, Grouplove and Cake. The announcement also revealed that other local acts will be joining the festival as well as smaller bands and groups, to bring 40 different bands together for the festival. The annual event will once again take place at Central Field in Forest Park. This year’s event will be held September 6-7. Tickets to see the concert event live are on sale now and available to the public.









While many are gearing up for the upcoming festival season, one of the biggest announcements of the week came regarding one of the most established bands in rock music today. Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers just announced they will be hitting the road for a new concert this year. The group will be promoting their latest album, which is their first record in more than four years. The album, called “Hypnotic Eye” was just released to the public to rave reviews and outstanding commercial success. In support of this venture, the rockers will be heading out on tour, starting August 3rd. The tour will officially kick off in San Diego, California. From there the group will visit 29 major markets across the United States for a tour that will last more than two months.

Broadway Theater Upcoming Shows

This week, the team behind the highly anticipated Broadway production of On the Town, made a major announcement about the upcoming plans for the production. The team revealed that the three lead roles for the production have been cast, with Tony Yazbeck, Jay Armstrong Johnson and Clyde Alves in the head roles. The three seasoned actors will be playing three sailors on a day-long excursion to New York City. The Broadway revival will feature the original iconic music featured in the production and will be held at the Lyric Theatre. The show will be celebrating its 70th anniversary with this new production and will be directed by Tony award winning director John Rando. Previews for the play will officially begin on September 20th at the former Foxwoods theatre. The official opening of the production will be on October 16th. Summer Fun!

This week the official line up for one of the falls most anticipated music festivals was released. This year will be the fifth-annual LouFest and once again it will take place over two days in the city of St. Louis. This year’s event will betaking place September 6th-7th in the city’s Forest Park Central Field. Once again the festival will bring in some of thebiggest names in the industry to the city. In addition to bringing in local talent such as Old Salt Union, Pretty LittleEmpire and Big Brother Thunder, the festival will also have some big name headliners as well. The official headlining actsfor the event include Outkast, Cake, the Artic Monkeys and Grouplove. Tickets to see the annual Midwest music festival are onsale now for those looking to take in all of the action of this massive two day music event.

Another major concert announcement this week came from Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy. The famed performer has just announced plans totour in support of his upcoming solo album. This will be the debut solo effort for the singer. The tour will keep the band onthe road throughout most of the summer. During this new outing, the singer will not only be introducing fans to new songs,but he will also be introducing the public to a new backing band. This band will include his son, Spender Tweedy, on drums.

Festival Season 2014

As music festival season is in full swing, there were several major announcements this week regarding some of the biggest festivals of the year. One of the first major announcements came regarding the annual Bumbershoot Festival in Seattle. This three day music event annually takes place in the Seattle Center. Every year, there are at least half-dozen stages that feature live music performances and now the official lineup for the festival has been revealed. According to the announcement from festival coordinators, the event will feature performances from Wu-Tang Clan, The Replacements and Foster the People this year. The event will also feature performances from other big names such as Elvis Costello and The Imposters, J.Cole, Scoolboy Q, Capital Cities and Panic! at the Disco. Those looking to see the event live will be able to get both three day passes and single day tickets. This year’s event will officially kick off on Saturday August, 30th and will run until Monday September 1st. Tickets are on sale now and available to the public for those looking to see all of the action unfold live.

The War on Drugs and Fleetwood Mac News

This week, the popular band The War on Drugs, just announced that they will be heading out on a new tour across the U.S. this fall. The band will be supporting their latest album, Lost in the Dream, during this new outing. After performing for several weeks in Europe, the indie group is planning on making their way to the United States. The tour will officially kick off in Raleigh, North Carolina, on August 9th, and then the band will be stopping at the Boston Calling Festival in Massachusetts before starting to tour around the country. Along the tour, the group will be stopping in Los Angeles, Austin, San Francisco and Detroit, among other major markets. The group will stay on the road throughout the fall. The band will be touring around Europe through July. Tickets for the remaining European shows and for their newly unveiled US stops are on sale now and available to the public.


Another major announcement this week came from the iconic group, Fleetwood Mac. The band, who just revealed earlier this season, that they would be heading out on the road for a new tour event, have just made another announcement regarding their upcoming outing. Thanks to overwhelming ticket sales, the group has added several more stops on their North American tour.

This week the official tour dates for the much anticipated tour with Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull were revealed. Last month the two revealed that they would be heading out on this new massive tour, and now more details have emerged about their plans for the outing. The 15 city tour will officially kick off Friday September 12th in Newark, New Jersey, and will keep the two on the road throughout October 22nd, where they will wrap up their tour in Hollywood, Florida. Other stops include Washington, DC, New York, Boston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Dallas, Atlanta and Houston. The two will also be visiting Canada for shows in Montreal and Toronto. Tickets are on sale now and available for fans looking to see this high energy tour in their hometown.


This week, singer Sarah McLachlan made a major announcement regarding her upcoming tour plans. The multi-Grammy award winning singer has revealed that she will be returning home to her native country in Canada for a new tour event. The singer will be promoting her brand new album; a record entitled “Shine On,” which she released on May 6th. This latest record is the singer’s eight studio album. The singer, who is known for hit singles such as “Angel,” has also been promoting the record with stops on shows like “Good Morning America,” “the View” and “The Tonight Show.” During these appearances the singer has also been promoting her upcoming US leg of her tour which kicks off on June 20th.

Crosby, Stills and Nash Plus Three Dog Night News

This week there were several major announcements for fans of jam bands who want to see their favorite performers take the stage live. This week one of the major music announcements came from the band Crosby, Stills and Nash. The group revealed plans for a new late summer/early fall tour outing that will officially kick off on August 6th in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.  From there, the band will start traveling along the East Coast to several major concert venues in South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia. The band will also make stops in Texas, Oregon, Washington and Colorado, before wrapping up the tour on October 1st in San Diego, California. During this tour outing, fans can expect to hear some of the band’s biggest songs from the last several years in the industry, performed live. Tickets to see the group live are expected to sell out fast as they will be visiting more intimate venues during their tour in hopes to get up close and personal with their fans during these performances. Tickets are on sale now for those who want to see the band take the stage live.

Broadway May News

This week, there were several big announcements about hit Broadway productions. Tickets are now on sale to see the new much talked about play called The City of Conversation. The play, which starts in 1979 in Washington D.C., spans over 30 years and six presidents. The production features five time Tony nominee Jan Maxwell as Hester Ferris, and an all star supporting cast. The play is now open to the public and is being performed at the Lincoln Center Theater. Tickets are available to those looking to see this unique production unfold live.

Another new much talked about production just revealed plans for its official opening as the team behind Up Here just announced their official debut. The new musical was written by Academy Award winning songwriters Robert Lopex and Kristen Anderson- Lopez, the same team behind the hit Academy Award winning movie “Frozen.” The play will officially open in 2015 at La Jolla Playhouse. The show will be directed by two-time Tony nominee Alex Timbers. The play has been described as a romantic comedy with a ‘theatrical twist.” Lopez, who has also won Tony Awards for The Book of Mormon and Avenue Q, has been planning his vision for the production for the past five years. Tickets are expected to go on sale at the end of this year.

“Today” show concert series event

This summer NBC will once again be hosting their “Today” show concert series event. The television station has just revealed who their headlining performers will be this year for their live summer concert series. According to the announcement include Mariah Carey, Pharrell Williams, Maroon 5 and Jason Mraz. These acts will all be taking the stage as part of the summer concert series. Mariah Carey will be kicking off the concert series in Rockefeller Plaza on May 16th. Pharrell Williams, who was also just named as one of the judges on “The Voice” will be taking the stage Thursday, June 5th.

These aren’t the only performers slated for the concert series event either. Other performers include Neon Trees, OneRepublic and Jennifer Hudson. Train, Maroon 5 and Phillip Phillips all performed last year as part of the summer series event. All of these performances will be taking place on Fridays. Tickets to see these concerts live are on sale now and available to the public for those who want to see their favorite artists perform as part of the NBC summer series.

Paul McCartney plus NKOB Related News

This week, there were several big concert tour announcements to delight fans of all types of music. This week, Paul McCartney made another announcement about his highly successful “Out There” tour. The former Beatle revealed an additional stop for his current tour and will be adding a final performance at San Francisco’s Candlestick Park. The singer has already sold out all of his shows, in major markets and has recently added stops in Missoula, MT on August 5th, Los Angeles on August 10th and Phoenix on August 12th. Tickets for these shows are on sale now. Tickets are also on sale for the Candlestick Park show which is being called the “Farewell to Candlestick: The Final Concert.” The show and last stop on McCartney’s US tour will be the final show before its demolition. This is also the place where the Beatles performed their final full concert together in 1966. Tickets are on sale now but expected to sell out fast.
