As music festival season is in full swing, there were several major announcements this week regarding some of the biggest festivals of the year. One of the first major announcements came regarding the annual Bumbershoot Festival in Seattle. This three day music event annually takes place in the Seattle Center. Every year, there are at least half-dozen stages that feature live music performances and now the official lineup for the festival has been revealed. According to the announcement from festival coordinators, the event will feature performances from Wu-Tang Clan, The Replacements and Foster the People this year. The event will also feature performances from other big names such as Elvis Costello and The Imposters, J.Cole, Scoolboy Q, Capital Cities and Panic! at the Disco. Those looking to see the event live will be able to get both three day passes and single day tickets. This year’s event will officially kick off on Saturday August, 30th and will run until Monday September 1st. Tickets are on sale now and available to the public for those looking to see all of the action unfold live.
Another major announcement this week came from singer and songwriter Lily Allen. The popular performer revealed that she will be adding a new North American run to support her latest album. The singer’s newly released third album “Sheezus” has already been a major hit and now the performer will be heading out on the road to promote the album with a new tour event. The newly announced stateside run will be bookended by European tours and will officially kick off on September 9th in Miami, Florida. From there, the singer will head out and visit 18 additional major markets, before she wraps up her tour in Los Angeles on October 10th. From there, Allen will head to Europe for another string of shows that will keep her on the road through mid November. On this new tour, fans can expect to hear some of the new songs from Allen’s latest album as well as some of her other major hits, performed live.
