Cher Tour Info and More
By David Jacobs | September 16th, 2014

This week, there were several major announcements regarding new upcoming shows and tours, however, there were also announcements regarding some cancellations as well. Avicii, the popular Swedish DJ, had just announced plans for an expanded tour throughout 2014. However, the international superstar has just cancelled the remainder of all of his gigs for the rest of 2014 to focus on his health concerns. The performer had surgeries to remove his gallbladder and appendix earlier this year and will be recovering back in his home city of Stockholm. The Grammy nominated performer has cancelled several performances already and is now planning on canceling all remaining shows. There has been no word yet on whether or not the performer will be rescheduling any of his performances next year.

While Avicii unfortunately has to cancel shows for his fans, other artists are announcing plans for new performances as well. Singer, songwriter and guitarist Alejandro Escovedo and the guitarist and co-founder of REM, Peter Buck have made a joint announcement about their upcoming fall tour plans. The two will be heading out to visit several theaters across the country. The trip will officially kick off on October 24th in Seattle, Washington. From there the duo will perform 14 different concerts, including a two-night event in Los Angeles on October 31st-November 1st. Tickets are available now.

Finally, another big announcement came from pop icon Cher. The singer has just announced that she will be adding more shows to her current “Dressed to Kill Tour.” The tour, which started in March, has been a sell-out success. Now the singer will be adding 16 additional arena shows to the outing, which will start on October 15th in Richmond, Va. The newly extended tour will keep Cher on the road throughout November. The tour will now wrap up on November 19th in North Charleston, South Carolina. Tickets for the tour go on sale now. The singer currently has special opening guests Pent Benatar and Neil Giraldo handling opening duties until November 3rd. The singer has yet to reveal who the new special guests for the remainder of the tour will be. With even more shows as part of this massive outing, will you be seeing Cher live on her tour?
