New Theater Shows Hitting The Stage

This week, several announcements were made regarding some of the most highly anticipated shows to hit the Broadway stage. Another big announcement this week came regarding Broadway in Chicago’s big world premier. The production officially welcomed the premiere of Amazing Grace this week. The show has been in previews since October 9th at Chicago’s Bank of America Theatre. Now the production is officially underway. The all-new musical will continue in Chicago through November 2nd and will feature music and lyrics from Christopher Smith. The cast is lead by Tony Award nominees Josh Youn and Erin Mackey. Together with an all-star cast this production tells that story of the true story behind one of the most popular songs in the world. The new production On the Town also opened this week on October 16th. The show premiered at the Lyric Theatre. The production made a dramatic revival o f the popular show, which first premiered in 1944. The show features an all-star cast that tell the story of three sailors on shore leave in New York City during World War II. With plenty of comedy, romance, adventure and exciting new choreographed numbers, this show is one of the most beloved in Broadway. Now back and bigger than ever, tickets are officially available for the new updated production of On the Town, for theatre fans looking to relive the magic of this story.

This weekend, tickets officially went on sale for the much talked about Broadway revival of the Rodgers and Hammerstein’s production of The King and I. The show will be starring five-time Tony Award nominee Kelli O’Hara alongside Ken Watanabe. The tickets officially went on sale on October 19th. This production will bring together a massive cast of more than 50 performers as well as plenty of exciting new choreography that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats. The show will begin previews on March 12th, 2015 at the Vivan Beaumont Theater. The show will then officially open to the public on April 16th.
