Broadway Theater Update

This week there were several big announcements regarding the world of live theatre that have Broadway fans more than excited for the upcoming year. The announcements began with a reveal from one of the most popular plays on the stage today, Matilda. Thanks to tremendous ticket sales, the team behind the musical has revealed that they will be heading out on a new tour event. The producers revealed that starting in May of 2015, the show will head out on a major official tour which will start in LA. From there the production will visit other major markets such as San Francisco, Dallas and more.

Another one of the big announcement from the week came this week when the new production, Bronx Bombers officially opened on the stage. The play is a new drama from Eric Simonson and it officially opened on February 6th to public. This play has been a much talked about venture for the theatre world as it takes a look at one of the most popular sports teams in the world of professional sports today. The story tells the tale of the New York Yankees, through the eyes of the legendary player Yogi Berra. This production is slated to have everyone from theater fans, to New York lovers to sports enthusiasts alike cheering as the Broadway production brings a unique tale to stage. The Broadway play officially opened at the Circle in the Square. Tickets are on sale now and available to the public for those who are looking to see the production live.

Garth Brooks, The National and Vampire Weekend

This week there were several big concert announcements beginning with an announcement from Garth Brooks. Before the country icon releases the official schedule for his upcoming 2014 tour, he has just released tickets for the kickoff to the event, set to take place in Ireland. This will be the first show in 17 years that Brooks has performed in the country. When tickets went on sale, Brooks sold nearly a quarter of a million tickets for his event at Croke Park in just 90 minutes. The sold out event covers three days of concerts and is the fastest in history for any artist. Tour date announcements for the North American leg of the tour are slated to come this month, and if these first shows are any indication of what ticket sales will be like, fans can expect concert tickets to see Garth Brooks live for the first time in more than a decade, will be selling out fast.

CTC Keeps You Up To Date

This week, pop songstress Katy Perry made another new big announcement regarding her upcoming tour plans. The singer revealed that she will be adding even more dates to her upcoming Prismatic tour. The singer made headlines when she announced her massive 2014 tour, and fans from all over the country quickly flogged to get tickets to these performances. Now, due to heavy ticket demands, the singer has added several additional shows to her upcoming agenda. The singer has revealed that she will be adding new shows in Washington DC, Newark, Chicago, Boston, two shows in Toronto, Philadelphia, Edmonton, Los Angeles, Vancouver, San Jose, Anaheim, Houston and Dallas.

While on tour, the singer will be joined on stage by one of three opening acts; Capital Cities, Tegan and Sara and Kacey Musgraves. For most of the newly added tours, Capital Cities will be performing to open up for the singer. Tickets for the newly unleashed dates for this Katy Perry tour go on sale this month for those who want to see the performer take the stage live.

Murder for Two and Simply Liza

This week there were several big announcements regarding some of the most exciting live musical performances of the year for theatre fans. One of the first big announcements came about the production called Murder for Two. This live musical event has been one of the most talked about live shows in recent years and the team behind this hilarious new production has just announced that additional tickets are now on sale to see the super-charged performance live. The double act, which has been hailed by many as one of the most unique productions in New York features two performers, both playing the piano, one acting out the investigator of a crime and the other acting out the parts of all of the suspects. The sold out show has just added new tickets and new performance times for those who are interested in seeing the show live. Tickets are available for the new dates now but are expected to sell out fast.

Alice and Chains and Motley Crue News

This week, there were two big announcements from some of the biggest hard rock bands in the business. One of the first big announcements came from the group Alice in Chains. The Seattle rock band revealed that they will be planning a new US tour outing for the spring. This new tour will be supporting their 2013 album “The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here.” This record was nominated for a Grammy Award and peaked at the number two spot on the charts. According to the announcement from the band, the outing will officially kick off on April 25th in Tulsa, Oklahoma. From there the rockers will travel through the country for 21 performances. The band will wrap up their outing in Council Bluffs, Iowa on May 24th for their last outing of the event. Tickets are on sale now for those who are looking to see the rockers live.

End Of January Update

This week, there were several announcements regarding upcoming music festivals and tour events, beginning with an announcement about the Soulfrito Festival. The team behind this festival has revealed the two headlining performers for this year’s event, revealing that Don Omar and Nas will be sharing the stage in the headlining position for this exciting festival. The Soulfrito Music Festival will be taking place on February 22nd this year and once again will be celebrating urban and Latin music. The festival will be held in Miami, Florida at the Sun Life Stadium. In addition to featuring performances from these two headlining acts, a collection of other supporting acts will also be taking the stage to perform live at the annual exciting. Tickets are on sale now for those who want to see this exciting music festival on February 22nd in Miami.

However, while there was plenty of news from the festival world this week, there were also some major announcements about exciting events taking place on the Broadway stage. One of the big most talked about productions in the live theatre world this year is the production 50 Shades! The Musical. The complete casting for the production was revealed this week and will include Ashley Ward, Casey Rogers, Adam Hyndman and other performers who will be bringing the parody of the hit book to life. Performances will begin on February 21st for those who want to see a preview of the show, with the official opening slated for March 12th. Tickets are on sale now.

Kanye West and Billy Joel Update

This week there have been several big announcements as music fans gear up for the upcoming tour season. One of the big announcements of the week came from rapper Kanye West. The singer has just added another leg to his North American tour called the “Yeezus” tour. The new tour event is supporting his album of the same name and will feature some of his latest hits from this wildly popular record. The superstar will be extending the tour significantly with this being his first solo trek in the last five years.

The singer is currently on hiatus from touring but is slated to return to the stage on February 13th. This new leg of his tour will officially kick off in University Park, PA and will continue to eight different stops over ten days’ time. Key stops along the way include concerts in Baltimore and Atlantic City. The tour will then wrap up in Uniondale, New York on February 23rd. Kanye West has not released any additional information about other plans for additional legs of this tour at this time. Tickets are on sale for the newly unveiled leg of this Kanye West Tour.

Luke Bryan, ZZ Ward, Dayton 500 and Garth Brooks

A big concert announcement this week came from the country superstar Luke Bryan. The singer just revealed that he will be finishing up his tour just in time for the Daytona 500. According to the singer, he will now be doing a pre-race show at the Daytona 500 on February 23rd. This will bring his total tour to around 50 shows. The pre-race show will feature many of the hit songs performed on the singer’s “My Kind of Night” tour that he just launched. Tickets are now available for this tour including the singer’s stop in Daytona.

Meanwhile, Blues singer ZZ Ward has just announced that she will be headlining a new tour of her own with the “Last Love” tour. This tour will start in Philadelphia on February 28th and keep the singer on the road through the rest of the spring including an appearance at the Coachella Festival. One of the biggest pop singers in the world, Katy Perry has just revealed her plans to head out on an exciting new tour. This tour will be known as the Prismatic Tour and it will bring the raven-haired singer to concert venues across the country. In January of 2014, Katy Perry took the stage to reveal her plans for her upcoming tour event, revealing that the massive outing would officially kick off on June 22nd.

Upon revealing the specifics of the tour the “Dark Horse” singer revealed she will be visiting 46 different cities, starting in Raleigh, North Carolina and then traveling throughout the country to some of the biggest cities in the United States. When choosing the stops for this massive tour, the singer revealed that she will be stopping at some cities she has never visited before, per the video requests of her fans. Some of the big stops along the way include Atlanta, New York, Pittsburgh, Boston, Philadelphia and more. This is the third headlining concert tour for the singer.

Allman Brothers At Beacon Theatre and Rascal Flatts News

This week the hit band the Allman Brothers revealed exciting new details about their upcoming annual Beacon Theatre run. The group revealed that they will be extending the run from the planned 10 show stand to an extended 14 shows. After the first ten dates for the show sold out quickly, the group announced their plans for the four additional shows. According to the announcement the new shows will be taking place March 25, 26, 28 and 29th. During these performances, the band will be joined on stage by other musical acts Haynes and Trucks. Tickets for these newly unveiled shows go on sale January 31st to the public.

In other concert news, the iconic country band the Rascal Flatts announced that they will be touring for most of 2014. The singers already toured through much of 2013, and will continue to entertain fans with their live performances in the new year. According to the rockers they will be touring for most of the year in an extensive outing that will back two different releases for the band. The band has also revealed that they will be joined on stage by two big name performers for this new tour as Sheryl Crow and Gloriana will both be joining the group on stage. The new tour will be called “Rewind.”
