This week, music fans were also treated to a different type of treat when it was revealed that Electric Picnic would officially be celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. It was uncertain if the music festival would be holding its annual concert again this year, but this week the team behind the Electric Picnic Festival announced that the event would be back and in full force. This year’s festival will be taking place on August 30th and run through September 1st. The festival will once again be held at the Stadbally Estate in Ireland. The company also revealed the lineup for the event which will feature headlining acts from performers such as Fatboy Slim, Bjork, the Artic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand, Wu Tang Clan and more. Tickets for the annual music festival are on sale now.
Meanwhile, one of the biggest musical acts of all time, The Monkees, has made their own musical announcement revealing their plans for an upcoming American tour called “A Midsummer’s Night With the Monkees.” The tour will feature the three surviving members of the band, Micky Dolenz, Micahel Nesmith and Peter Tork. The tour will kick off on July 15th in Port Chester, New York and will keep the band on the road throughout August. Tickets go on sale May 3rd.
Another big rock music announcement came this week, when legendary singer Beck revealed that he would be hitting the road on a new summer time tour. This tour will kick off with several acoustic only performances from the singer and then a full band tour of the East Coast that will keep the performer on the road for most of the year. During these acoustic performances, Beck will also be appearing at the Newport Folk Festival. Other stops during his full band portion of the tour include shows in Boston and Brooklyn. This tour will be kicking off after Beck sold out his one off gig on May 19th in Santa Cruz, California almost right away.

This week, a number of big live performance announcements were made regarding the theatrical stage. With these announcements, many theatre fans are excited about some of the upcoming events for this upcoming theatre season. The live production of Silence! The Musical, is now playing on Off-Broadway after a brief hiatus. The production has now resumed performances at the Elektra Theatre. Tickets are on sale now and available to the public.
One of the biggest announcements of the week came when the team behind the Listen Up! concert starring Darren Criss tour revealed that tickets would be going on sale this Saturday, April 27th. The Darren Criss tour will feature the “Glee” star and star of How to Succeed In Business Without Really Trying in a concert that will be promoting his new studio album. The tour will kick off on May 29th in San Francisco, California. Tickets are now on sale and available to the public.
While the star of one big musical is heading out on the road for a concert tour event, another big production is launching as well. This week tickets go on sale for the new production of Pippin. This over-the-top jazz musical is now holding performances live on the Broadway stage. The production opened this week to rave reviews and features an all-star cast of performers. Tickets are available now.
While many are excited for Pippin now that the highly anticipated production is officially open on Broadway, others are excited about the new production of Caberet. The new Caberet revival is slated to open next season and tickets are slated to go on sale soon. This week it was revealed that Alan Cumming would be reprising his role as the Master of Ceremonies in the production. This will be a revival from the Roundabout Theatre Company and is slated to be one of the most highly anticipated acts of next season. While official casting has not been confirmed, names such as Emma Stone have been revealed as possibilities of taking the lead in the production. Will you be seeing Caberet when it opens on Broadway?

This week several big concert tour announcements were made that have had fans of all types excited about the summer touring season. One of the biggest announcements of the week came when Robert Plant announced new 2013 tour dates for the Sensational Space Shifters. The famed lead singer of Led Zeppelin will be heading out on the road with his new band, The Sensational Space Shifters for an exciting tour event that is sure to be a ‘must see’ for all types of rock fans. The tour is slated to kick off on June 20th in Dallas, Texas. The tour will then be finishing up on July 27th in Brooklyn. The tour will include 21 total stops. Tickets for this highly anticipated rock event go on sale April 26th.
Another big tour announcement this week came from some of the biggest names in rap music when the dates and lineup for the second annual Under The Influence of Music tour were released. The tour will be headlined by Wiz Khalifa A$AP Rocky, and B.O.B. among other performers, in a must see event. During this concert tour spectacular the performers will be visiting some of the biggest arenas in the entire country. The tour will take place in the summer of 2013 and keep the performers on the road for most of the season. The event will kick off in Mountain View, California on July 17th. Tickets for the concert go on sale Saturday April 27th.
Finally the biggest announcement of the week came when the official line up for the Americanarama Festival of Music Tour was announced this week. The tour confirmed that Bob Dylan will be headlining the event along with bands Wilco and My Morning Jacket. The tour event will feature a selection of rockers and visit some of the biggest venues in the country making 26 different stops along its way. The tour is slated to kick off in West Palm Beach, Florida on June 26th. Tickets to see this massive tour festival event go on sale April 27th. The world of rock music is buzzing right now as many are gearing up about some of the big events that are taking place in the next few months in the world of rock music. One of the biggest announcements of the week came from hard rockers Black Sabbath. The band, which is headed by legendary performer Ozzy Osbourne has announced they will be adding new tour events in North America to their current 2013 spring and summer tour. The tour kicks off on April 20th in New Zealand and now there will be four additional shows taking place in North America as well. Tickets are on sale and available to the public now.
The blues rock and soul singer ZZ Ward also made an announcement of her own when the singer revealed she would be taking the road for a new tour event to promote her album “Til The Casket Drops.” The concert is set to kick off on May 18th in Fort Worth, Texas and will include 29 different stops during this tour event. Her concert event will end on August 30th when she will appear at the Milwaukee, WI Harley Davidson 110th Anniversary event. Tickets are on sale and available to the public right now for those looking to see this performer take the stage live.
However, for many in the world of music one of the most highly anticipated shows coming up will be taking place next weekend. In just a few days the highly anticipated concert event from Prince, taking place at The Joint at The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. This two night event will actually feature four shows; with Prince playing both an 8 PM and a 11:30 PM show every evening. Tickets to this highly anticipated show which will take place April 26th and April 27th on the Las Vegas Strip, are on sale and available to the public right still for those who want to see Prince play live. This week it was revealed that several big name rockers would be hitting the road for new live music events that are sure to have rockers of all types on the edges of their seat. First, new concert tour events were added to the current co-headlining rock tour that features 3 Doors Down and Daughtry. The bands are currently on the road performing a successful run of concerts, and due to popular demand, they will be extending their tour to include even more shows. The concert began in 2012 and after a small break the bands will be back on the road beginning on July 5th. With several new dates added to the show fans will have even more opportunities to see this band perform live. Tickets for the newly added shows are now available to the public.
In other news, the rock band Furthur, which features former Grateful Dead members Phil Lesh and Bob Weir, has announced a new fall tour around the country. After completing an April residency the band will head out on the road on May 9th and wrap up the show in October at the Greek Theatre in LA tickets for the concert tour event are on sale now.
Finally, one of the biggest rock announcements of the week came from the group the Black Crowes. The veteran rockers will be joining fellow rock group Tedeschi Trucks for a new concert tour event. The bands will come together to co-headline a new summer tour that will also feature opening act The London Souls. The Black Crowes will come straight off of their own headlining tour to join this “Summer Tour of Outdoor Venues” as the name suggests, the band will only be visiting outdoor concert venues with a trek that will begin July 19th in Nashville TN. With spring well underway and summer just around the corner, live music fans of all types are waiting anxiously to hear more information about summer music festivals. While many lineups for upcoming summer events have already been released, very little information has been unveiled about the massive San Francisco based annual festival known as The Outside Lands Festival. The team behind the event announced the final lineup for the event this week and revealed that the festival will take place from August 9th-August 11th in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco.
According to the announcement headliners will include performances from Paul McCartney, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and more, with appearances from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Nine Inch Nails and other bands. Tickets for the highly anticipated event, including three day festival passes will go on sale Thursday, April 18th to the public.
While many are excited about these live entertainment announcements, one of the biggest announcements for music fans came from the band Black Sabbath. The band revealed that they would be taking to the road in 2013 for a North American tour. The famous rock band, along with lead singer Ozzy Osbourne is scheduled to kick off in the end of the summer. So far, the tour, which is designed to promote the release of the band’s new album, 13, will kick off on August 4th. The group is currently only revealing three dates for their North American tour and has revealed that more information about the tour will be released soon. The band revealed that they will be playing a show in Holmdel, New Jersey on August 4th, a show in Quincy, WA on August 24th and performing in Los Angeles, California on September 3rd. These shows will be added to the already announced show for August 14th in Toronto.

This week, music fans who love the music of the 1960s were treated to a real concert tour surprise when it was revealed that The Turtles and several other acts from the 60’s would be taking the road in a new tour. This will be the fourth annual “Happy Together” tour and it will take several acts including Flo and Eddie, Gary Puckett and the Union and more on the road. The tour will start on June 8th with a performance in Biloxi, MS and will include 54 different stops during the trek. Tickets are on sale now for the tour.
Another great act from past generations, Brian Wilson, also made some announcements this week about his tour. Along with Beach Boys bandmates Al Jardine and David Marks, Wilson will be on the road for a new summer show event. The three Beach Boys are out celebrating the group’s 50th anniversary on a new tour and due to overwhelming popularity the band is adding several additional shows to their summer concert. Tickets are on sale now for these shows.
Meanwhile the Grammy award winning singer and songwriter Ryan Bingham is preparing for his own tour around the country with his new “Tomorrowland” tour. The concert is slated to begin on May 4th in Corpus Christi, Texas and the tour will include 33 different stops in cities all across the United States. This tour will be in support of Bingham’s fourth studio album, also called “Tomorrowland” tickets for the event are on sale now and available to the public.
Finally, one of the biggest concert news events from the week came from the California rockers Papa Roach. The platinum selling rock band began their highly anticipated nation-wide tour this week. Beginning on April 13th in Orlando, Florida the band will be on the road through the month of May, before heading overseas for a month-long European tour. This tour will be supporting the band’s latest studio album, a record called “The Connection” Tickets for the concert are on sale now and available to the public. However, the rockers are known for selling out some of the biggest venues in the world, so fans will want to act fast when getting their tickets.

This week, big news about several upcoming Broadway productions were unveiled to the public, beginning with an announcement about the upcoming musical Motown, which is set to hit the Broadway stage later on this month. Previews for the production officially began this week, and audiences have already been singing and dancing in the aisles as this musical, filled with some of the biggest Motown hits in history, takes the stage. After much anticipation about the production was built over months of waiting, previews are now officially being shown for the event and tickets are on sale to see these previews live. As for regular tickets to the production, those will go on sale to the public in Mid-May for those who want to see Motown the Musical when it officially debuts on the Broadway stage.
There was also major news released this week about the upcoming production of The Cripple of Inishmann. The production is slated to be a West End performance and has already gotten a great deal of attention from critics and Broadway fans alike who are anxiously awaiting its release. This week it was revealed that Daniel Radcliffe, made famous from the Harry Potter movies would be cast in the production and that the official opening day for the performance would be June 8th. Tickets are expected to go on sale next month to see this Miachel Grandage-directed production.
While many are excited about the upcoming production of The Cripple of Inishmann, even more are talking about the play that was just released to the public: Matilda. After months of waiting for the US production, Matilda has finally made its Broadway debut and tickets are now on sale and available to the public. The production, which is based on the book by Roald Dahl, debuted to outstanding critical reception and strong ticket sales. The plat officially debuted this week after months of waiting from fans. Among the new performances that Paul McCartney has added are shows at the Amway Center in Florida for May 18th, a show in Tennessee at the Fedex Forum on May 26th, a performance at Fenway Parkin Massachusetts on July 9th and more. All of these shows will provide fans with greater opportunities to see Paul McCartney in a rare live tour performance event. Tickets for the newly added shows and for the rest of the dates on the performer’s worldwide tour are on sale and available to the public now. Those who want to see Paul McCartney perform live will not want to miss out on this opportunity to see him take the stage in person.

As one of the biggest rock n’ roll groups of all time, it should come as no surprise that when The Rolling Stones announced their latest concert tour event, the entire world has been on the edge of their seats to find out more about this massive rock event. The band’s tour titled the “50 and Counting Tour” was announced last week and the band revealed that there would be nine different shows taking place on this North American arena tour. With several days in between each stop on the nine-city tour, the 50 and Counting jaunt leaves some room for the band to add additional shows if desired.
However, currently the band is staying mum on whether or not they will actually add additional shows to their tour, but they have revealed that additional stops are a possibility. However currently, Keith Richard, Mick Jagger and the rest of The Rolling Stones have their eyes set on the confirmed dates for their 2013 outing. The band’s tour is currently scheduled to kick off in Los Angeles at the Staple’s Center near the beginning of May. However, the exact date for the kick-off has yet to be revealed until scheduled events from the NHL playoffs are scheduled.
The band’s second tour stop, however, is slated for May 5th and will take place at the Oracle Aren in Oakland, California. Other stops along the way will include concerts in Toronto, Las Vegas, San Jose and Anaheim as well as stops in Boston and Chicago, where rumors have been swirling already about potential two night stays for each city. The tour is currently slated to end at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on June 18th. On this upcoming ’50 and Counting’ tour, fans will not only be able to see The Rolling Stones take the stage live but according to the band, fans may also be able to expect some special surprises and possible guest appearances when this band takes hits the road for this highly anticipated tour event.
