Tour News March 28th

This week, several big tour announcements for this summer were revealed, getting music fans ready for the summer tour season. One of the biggest tour announcements of the week came from the 2013 Grammy Award Winning artists for the Album of the Year, Mumford and Sons. The performers announced that they will be heading out on the road for a new tour event that will launch in Calgary on May 21st. During this tour Mumford & Sons will be touring around the country and promoting some of their latest recordings as well as hits from some of their earlier work. This tour will also include a three night stay in Berkeley, California, a stop at Bonnaroo on June 15th. The tour will keep the band on the road through September 15th. Tickets for this massive tour event go on sale this week to the public. Those who are looking to see Mumford and Sons take the stage live will want to act fast to get their tickets to see this event live.

While it may be ‘March Madness’ time for college basketball fans, it doesn’t mean that in the world of live entertainment there aren’t other big announcements being released in the month of March. In fact this week one of the hottest rock bands in music today, The National, made a major announcement that has fans of all ages excited about March. The veteran rock group announced that on May 21st they would be releasing their sixth studio album and in order to support that new album they would be heading out on a tour around the country this summer. During this summer time tour, the group will be stopping at some of the biggest venues in the entire country. This includes the new Barclays Center in Brooklyn, on June 5th, the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on August 10th and the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado on September 17th. Tickets for these events go on sale this week, so fans of the group will want to act fast if they are looking to see the group take the stage live.

This week sports fans of all types are on the edges of their seats as some of the biggest sports events of the year are starting to take place. Earlier in the month, spring training began for the MLB and baseball fans are now getting their first glimpse at how their favorite teams will look in the upcoming 2013 season. Currently the Kansas City Royals and Atlanta top the American League and the National League respectively and fans of all types are clamoring for tickets to see all of their favorite teams take the field in the spring training events. Tickets are now officially on sale for all pre-season MLB games.

While one professional sports season is just kicking off; another one is starting to come to a close. It is near the end of the regular season for the NBA as many teams are looking to get some last wins in during the regular season in hopes to make it to the NBA playoffs next month. Tickets are now on sale for all of the games in the 2013 NBA playoffs, but fans of the sport will want to make sure that they get their tickets quickly. NBA playoff tickets are some of the most difficult to get in all of sports, so fans will want to act fast.

This week one of the biggest and most innovative rock concert events was revealed. It was announced that the Atoms for Peace Tour would be kicking off this year and that it will feature some of the biggest acts in rock n’ roll. The tour consists of a group of big rock members including Thom York, Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers, Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, Joey Waronker and Mauro Refosco.

Together these performers will be hitting the road as Atoms for Peace. This fall tour will contain several big stops including a stop on September 27th at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn. The band will also be performing at big venues such as the Hollywood Bowl. If you are looking to get tickets to see Atoms for Peace live, you will want to act fast when getting seats to this event. This week it was revealed that the multi-talented Andrea Bocelli has also announced that he will be taking the road in a new tour event to support his recently released album “Passione.” The new tour will take the instrumentalist to all around the world to Abu Dhabi, AEU and then to North America for a long stint that will include shows in Denver, Las Vegas and other cities before wrapping in Atlanta in December. Tickets to see the famed musician are expected to sell fast so those who are looking to see the performer live will want to act fast when getting their tickets.

In other live performance news, the highly anticipated production “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike” has now officially opened to the public on Broadway. The live musical comedy production, which received rave reviews is now playing in a limited Broadway run and tickets to see the production live are now on sale. Featuring performers such as Sigourney Weaver, Kristine Nielsen and David Hyde Pierce, this star studded live musical has already gotten the attention of fans and critics alike. Phish, Phish and More

This week it was revealed that the hit band Phish would be taking the road in a new live tour event. The wildly popular jam band has been part of the music scene for years and is often hailed as one of the most popular bands to see live in concert. Much to the delight of fans from all over the country, the Vermont-based rockers will be heading out on a tour that will start this summer. The 2013 Phish summer tour event will features several multiple-night stays in venues such as Commerce City, Colorado, Saratoga Springs and San Francisco. The band will be performing three nights in a row during these three spots. Although the band is making a handful of several night residencies, fans should still get their tickets early as this group is known for selling out some of the biggest arenas in the country fast night after night. Entertainment News March 13th

This week it was revealed that a 2013 Watershed Festival would be taking place in George, WA. This will be the second annual Watershed Festival, and news regarding the headliners for the event has been revealed this week. The three-day country festival and camping event will feature acts such as Luke Bryan, Toby Keith and Brad Paisley all performing at the massive Gorge Amphitheater in George, WA. Tickets for the massive country music festival will go on sale March 15th. The public will be able to get tickets and passes to see all of the action unfold live for this massive event.

However, for rock fans, one of the biggest announcements of the week came from the veteran rock group, Depeche Mode. The rockers revealed that they will be going on tour in North America this fall for a massive outing that will take them to some of the biggest venues in the entire country. During this tour fans will be able to see some of the group’s biggest hits of all time performed live in a new concert spectacular. The tour is slated to kick off on August 22nd in Clarkston, Michigan and will take the rockers to 19 different locations. Tickets go on sale for the event on April 6th to the general public. As one of the first big tour announcements for the fall, tickets to see Depeche Mode live are expected to go quickly.

Summer Is Coming

This week, rapper Big Boi from the group Outkast revealed that he would be hitting the road later this month for a new tour promoting his recent album, “Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors.” The new tour will take the rapper to venues across North America is a tour he calls his “Shoes for Running Tour.” The multi-talented performer will be visiting some of the largest concert venues in the United States during this concert tour event and tickets are on sale now.

Also, this week, tickets went on sale for the new 2013 show for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. The veteran rock band will be making a one time show appearance this summer at the Milwaukee based Summerfest Music Festival, which is the largest music festival in the entire world. The band will be holding their concert at the Marcus Amphitheater in Milwaukee as one of the headlining events of the two week music festival. Tickets for the concert are on sale now; those who want to see Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers in this one time concert event will want to act fast.

Theater Update

This week it was revealed that several big live performance events would be hitting the stage for fans of live theatre. One of the first and biggest announcements of the week came when it was revealed that Tony Award winner Jefferson Mays would be returning to the stage for eight performances of the hit 2012 musical comedy A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder. Returning to the stage by popular demand, the production will be holding eight performances at The Old Globe theatre in San Diego, California. Since performances are limited the tickets are expecting to go quickly. Those who are looking to get tickets to the event will want to act fast as they are sure to sell out quickly.

Another big live event that is making its return to the stage is one of the most popular musicals of all time, the Phantom of the Opera. A newly revamped version of the production with new leads and performers will be hitting the Broadway stage in March of 2013. This week it was revealed that famed performer David Byrne and singer and songwriter St. Vincent would be heading out on the road to support their new collaborative album. The new album, titled “Love the Giant” will take the two performers to some of the biggest venues across the country, and to concert venues in the United States, Canada and Europe. Tickets are on sale now and available to the public.

As the hit rock band Emblem3 currently tours around the country in their latest tour trek, which has completely sold out in venues around the country, the rock group has revealed that they will be adding more touring dates for their fans.  The band will be taking the road after finishing up their handful of East Cost shows this month in a new tour event known as the “Goin’ Back 2 Cali Tour.” This massive tour will take “The X Factor” breakout stars on a large jaunt around the country beginning in April in New York City and ending in California. The band developed a massive following on their ‘X Factor’ appearance and many fans from all over the country, which can be seen in their latest set of concert appearances, so tickets are expected to sell out quickly. Tickets to the concert go on sale this month and fans will want to act fast.
