A General Update…

By Amy | February 2nd, 2011

So how long has it been since we gave something away to those of you who follow our blog, twitter, newsletter and Facebook feeds? We know, we know. Clearly too long. There’s a new opportunity in the works, though, along the same lines as the Scavenger Hunt we did last August, so watch for more news on that!

Also – we posted this on Facebook, but it bears repeating here as well: If you’re holding tickets for an event that’s been impacted by the recent snowstorms in much of the country, do NOT throw those tickets away! You may need them to obtain refunds, and if the show is rescheduled, you’ll almost certainly need those tickets to get in to the new show.

Top Six Revealed!

By Amy | May 6th, 2010

Thanks again to everyone who submitted their graphic entries for our Facebook page – we’ve narrowed it down to six, and will be announcing a winner tomorrow morning! Judging is based on:

- compliance with the rules (minimum age, graphic size, necessary URLs and other info)

- overall look, readability

- creativity!

Let us know what you think of our top six, and if yours didn’t make it this far, please try again next time – and thanks for taking part!

You can see the entries here.

Quick contest clarification!

By Amy | May 3rd, 2010

Looks like I missed a detail in our contest rules! The main ruleset specifies 500 pixels high, while the official legal rules state the graphic should be 575 pixels high. Just to clarify – both sizes will be accepted, so feel free to use the one that best suits your design(s). Only a few more hours left, and the winner gets a $200 gift card, so get them in!

Design a Graphic for our Facebook Page and Win a $200 Gift Card!

By Amy | April 7th, 2010

With the Coast to Coast Tickets Facebook Page nearing 2200 fans, it’s time for a visual upgrade! Show us your graphic design skills by designing a graphic for our Facebook and Twitter pages, and you could win a $200 gift card, good for any tickets on the Coast to Coast Tickets site.

Contest starts on April 19th, and you’ll have two weeks to submit your artwork. Our social media pages get huge traffic, so here’s your opportunity to put your art – and your name – in front of new eyes every day!

Submission Guidelines

  • Artwork must be original, created by you! No photographs.
  • Use .jpg or .gif format, and save at maximum quality where possible.
  • Graphic must be 200 pixels wide by 500 pixels high, and the file size needs to be under 2MB.
  • Graphic must contain the following text and URLs (formatting is up to you):

    - the company name “Coast to Coast Tickets”
    - the slogan, “great tickets from nice people”
    - our toll-free customer service phone number: 1-866-353-5167
  • The graphic must be full color. (Using the colors found on the website www.coasttocoasttickets.com may improve your chances, but it’s not required. Be creative!)

Cleaning house

By Amy | April 5th, 2010

Been cleaning out the pending comments on this blog, and I can’t help but laugh. Apparently my posts are some of the most absolutely riveting literary works ever posted, anywhere – at least, according to people with something to sell in their signature files. Occasionally, they get lucky and happen to mention something actually relevant to the post. When did blog comments become nothing but a public billboard?

And to anyone wondering why our April 1 entry was posted four times, it seems our own blogging software had an April Fools joke of its own. It has since been reprimanded.

Look for a new newsletter and discount code this week, with details on the next contest to be run on our Facebook page! If you’re a graphic artist, or just think of yourself as one, you’ll want to know about this one…

Sports Fansite Contest Winners Announced!

By Amy | November 16th, 2009

All right, the contest has ended, and it’s time to announce the winners!

There are three separate prizes of two sports tickets each. The first prize is for the site with the most votes, and with 71 votes, the winner of those two tickets is TheCaptainsDeck.net, run by Dan Doering! Congrats to Dan, who did a really impressive job mobilizing his fans to come vote throughout the week.

I also want to take a moment to congratulate SteelheadzofVA.com, run by Chris Lavendier, on coming in second with 28 votes, as well as give a nod to DirtDrivers.com, NorthsideBaseball.com and FenwayNation.com on filling out the top 5 spots with 25 votes, 17 votes, and 16 votes respectively.

So on to the second and third prize of two sports tickets each, awarded through a random drawing taken from all 210 total votes. And the randomly drawn vote was… (insert drum roll here)… Melissa Lynn Werner, voting for GloveRepair.com! That means two tickets for Melissa as the randomly drawn voter, and two tickets for GloveRepair.com, run by Rick Werner, as the site mentioned in the randomly drawn vote. Congratulations to Melissa and Rick on those tickets!

Sports Fansite Contest Update

By Amy | November 11th, 2009

All right, it’s day 3 of the Sports Site contest, which means it’s time for an update!

We’ve had 86 votes total, representing 14 sites so far in those votes. A couple sites in particular are heading up the totals, including The Captain’s Deck, DirtDrivers.com, Steelheadz of VA and Fenway Nation, putting them in the lead for the “Most Votes” prize, but with 4 more voting days and a random drawing, everyone’s still got a chance to win! Note – we’ve had a couple people voting more than once per day, so keep in mind that only one vote per day will be counted! (The extra votes are pretty and all, but they won’t give you — or the site you’re voting for — any extra chances to win. Sorry.)

If you run one of the eligible sites, don’t forget to let your readers know they can win tickets by voting for you – and even if you don’t run a site (heck, even if you don’t READ a sports site), check out the eligible site list here and vote!

Sports Site Contest Starts TODAY!

By Amy | November 9th, 2009

Our Coast to Coast Tickets sports fansite contest is officially on, which means you can win free sports tickets JUST BY VOTING for your favorite site! Easy as that.

Check out the sites below, and leave a comment on OUR Facebook wall at facebook.com/CTCTickets telling us your favorite site from the list (make sure to include the URL so there’s no question as to which site you’re voting for). You can do this once per day, per person – and at the end of the day on Sunday, Nov 15, we’ll pick one vote from random. If it’s yours, you’ll win 2 free sports tickets – AND the site you voted for wins 2 free sports tickets too! One site per vote please.

Contest update!

By Amy | October 27th, 2009

We’ve had great responses from sports sites wanting to get involved with the contest, so we’re going to push the beginning date back one week to give a little more time to get as many sites involved as we can.

Don’t forget to come to our facebook page here to start voting once per day for your favorite sport site, now starting MONDAY NOV. 9th and going through SUNDAY NOV. 15th!

Congrats to our newest winner…

By Amy | October 13th, 2009

Congratulations to Adam Plitt, our 1000th Facebook fan and winner of a $50 gift card! It’s only been this year that we’ve been giving away these milestone gift codes, and it’s been a quick and easy way to hand out a few bonuses to some of our most loyal customers. Keep on eye on the numbers and point your friends that way, and one of them could get lucky sometime soon!
