Summer Fun Update

This week, there were several big summer tour and concert announcements for music fans of all different genres. One of the first big announcements came from the band the Queens of the Stone Age. The rockers, who just finished up an international tour with Nine Inch Nails, revealed that they will be heading out on their own tour event that will take them across the music festival circuit throughout the summer. During this tour they will be making stops at big US music festivals such as the Sasquatch Music Festival in Indo, California. They will also be heading abroad for several international music festivals during the tour. The band will then pepper the outing with a handful of auditorium and theater stops along the way. The tour will be keeping the band on the road throughout August. Tickets are on sale now for their select theater performances and for a handful of the festival stops the band will be making along the way.

Jimmy Buffett, OneRepublic and Springsteen News

This weekend is a big weekend for music fans as tickets for some of the biggest concerts of the season officially go on sale to the public. First, tickets to see Jimmy Buffett in select locations will be going on sale this weekend. The singer will be heading out on his new “Songs From St. Somewhere” tour throughout the spring and summer. This weekend, tickets go on sale for stops in Virginia Beach, Raleigh, and The Woodlands, TX. This weekend, tickets will also go on sale to see the metal rockers Tool head out on their massive arena tour. This will be the first outing for the ban since 2012 and the rockers are slated to visit some of the biggest arenas in the country during their outing. Tickets to see the band in big venues such as Fresno, Las Vegas and Cedar Park are all on sale now and available to the public.

For pop/rock fans who want to see OneRepublic and Jason Aldean live this summer, tickets to see both of these acts live on stage are also going on sale this weekend. Tickets to see OneRepublic behind their new concert “Native” will go on sale for stops in Atlanta, NY, Toronto and Irvine, California. The band will be visiting several stops throughout Europe and North America during this outing. Fans looking to see Jason Aldean on his “Night Train” tour will find tickets for the singer’s Cleveland, Atlanta, and Morrison, CO tickets go on sale to the public this weekend.

Summer Can’t Get Here Fast Enough

This week some of the biggest rock legends in the business revealed plans for a new summer outing that are sure to have rockers excited for the upcoming season. According to an announcement from Styx, Foreigner and the former Eagles guitarist Don Felder; the three rockers will be joining forces for an exciting new event. The tour will be called “The Soundtrack of Summer” tour and it will head out around the country this summer. The tour will officially kick off on May 16th in Oklahoma City, California. From there the group will visit 33 major markets before the tour wraps up in Santa Barbara, California on July 27th. Felder will be the opening act for all concerts while Styk and Foreigner will rotate with closing duties. According to the team behind the event, more dates are expected to be revealed soon. During the concert, fans can expect to hear some of the biggest singles from all of the rockers, including a special new re-recorded version of “Hotel California.” Tickets are on sale now for the tour.

OneRepublic and Taking Back Sunday News

This week two of the biggest alternative rockers in the business announced that they will be heading out on a new tour event. The group
Taking Back Sunday revealed that they have mapped out a new, extensive spring outing. During a portion of this tour the group will be
performing alongside rockers The Used. The band is on the road promoting their upcoming album “Happiness Is.” Taking Back Sunday will start their tour outing overseas with a collection of European concerts, and then head to Southeast Asia before beginning the North American leg of their tour. This new leg kicks off in Grand Prairie, Texas on March 14th. On March 15th, the band will be joining together with the Used for several concerts. During the concert, fans can expect to hear some of the biggest singles from the band’s sixth studio album as well as some of their classic hits all performed live. Major stops include Hollywood,  San Francisco, Las Vegas, Tempe, Houston, New York City, Chicago, Milwaukee and other major markets.

Jack Johnson and One Direction 2014 Tour News

This week fold rock star Jack Johnson revealed that he will be heading out on a new international tour. This exciting new tour event will be supporting the singer’s 2013 release “From Here to Now to You.” According to the announcement from the Hawaii native, the singer will be spending much of the spring and summer on tour. The event will begin the touring season with a small tour in March throughout South Africa. Then in mid-May he will officially launch the new tour in the United States, beginning with an appearance at the hangout Music Festival in Gulf Shores, AL. From there, the singer will head out on a 15-city domestic outing that will keep him on the road through late June. From there the singer will head to Europe. By August, Johnson will return to the United States with a handful of shows before wrapping up the tour. During this tour, fans can expect to hear songs from the rocker’s recent album, which debuted at the top of The Billboard 200 charts.

Broadway Theater Update

This week there were several big announcements regarding the world of live theatre that have Broadway fans more than excited for the upcoming year. The announcements began with a reveal from one of the most popular plays on the stage today, Matilda. Thanks to tremendous ticket sales, the team behind the musical has revealed that they will be heading out on a new tour event. The producers revealed that starting in May of 2015, the show will head out on a major official tour which will start in LA. From there the production will visit other major markets such as San Francisco, Dallas and more.

Another one of the big announcement from the week came this week when the new production, Bronx Bombers officially opened on the stage. The play is a new drama from Eric Simonson and it officially opened on February 6th to public. This play has been a much talked about venture for the theatre world as it takes a look at one of the most popular sports teams in the world of professional sports today. The story tells the tale of the New York Yankees, through the eyes of the legendary player Yogi Berra. This production is slated to have everyone from theater fans, to New York lovers to sports enthusiasts alike cheering as the Broadway production brings a unique tale to stage. The Broadway play officially opened at the Circle in the Square. Tickets are on sale now and available to the public for those who are looking to see the production live.

Garth Brooks, The National and Vampire Weekend

This week there were several big concert announcements beginning with an announcement from Garth Brooks. Before the country icon releases the official schedule for his upcoming 2014 tour, he has just released tickets for the kickoff to the event, set to take place in Ireland. This will be the first show in 17 years that Brooks has performed in the country. When tickets went on sale, Brooks sold nearly a quarter of a million tickets for his event at Croke Park in just 90 minutes. The sold out event covers three days of concerts and is the fastest in history for any artist. Tour date announcements for the North American leg of the tour are slated to come this month, and if these first shows are any indication of what ticket sales will be like, fans can expect concert tickets to see Garth Brooks live for the first time in more than a decade, will be selling out fast.

This week, pop songstress Katy Perry made another new big announcement regarding her upcoming tour plans. The singer revealed that she will be adding even more dates to her upcoming Prismatic tour. The singer made headlines when she announced her massive 2014 tour, and fans from all over the country quickly flogged to get tickets to these performances. Now, due to heavy ticket demands, the singer has added several additional shows to her upcoming agenda. The singer has revealed that she will be adding new shows in Washington DC, Newark, Chicago, Boston, two shows in Toronto, Philadelphia, Edmonton, Los Angeles, Vancouver, San Jose, Anaheim, Houston and Dallas.

While on tour, the singer will be joined on stage by one of three opening acts; Capital Cities, Tegan and Sara and Kacey Musgraves. For most of the newly added tours, Capital Cities will be performing to open up for the singer. Tickets for the newly unleashed dates for this Katy Perry tour go on sale this month for those who want to see the performer take the stage live.

This week there were several big announcements regarding some of the most exciting live musical performances of the year for theatre fans. One of the first big announcements came about the production called Murder for Two. This live musical event has been one of the most talked about live shows in recent years and the team behind this hilarious new production has just announced that additional tickets are now on sale to see the super-charged performance live. The double act, which has been hailed by many as one of the most unique productions in New York features two performers, both playing the piano, one acting out the investigator of a crime and the other acting out the parts of all of the suspects. The sold out show has just added new tickets and new performance times for those who are interested in seeing the show live. Tickets are available for the new dates now but are expected to sell out fast.

Alice and Chains and Motley Crue News

This week, there were two big announcements from some of the biggest hard rock bands in the business. One of the first big announcements came from the group Alice in Chains. The Seattle rock band revealed that they will be planning a new US tour outing for the spring. This new tour will be supporting their 2013 album “The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here.” This record was nominated for a Grammy Award and peaked at the number two spot on the charts. According to the announcement from the band, the outing will officially kick off on April 25th in Tulsa, Oklahoma. From there the rockers will travel through the country for 21 performances. The band will wrap up their outing in Council Bluffs, Iowa on May 24th for their last outing of the event. Tickets are on sale now for those who are looking to see the rockers live.
