August Entertainment Update

This week, hot off the heels of the celebration of his 50th performance in Las Vegas, Rod Stewart made an announcement revealing that he has extended his contract with The Colosseum at Caesars Palace for two more years. The iconic performer will begin the new two year stay starting this fall. Tickets to see these performances in Las Vegas are now on sale and available to the public.

 In other news, award winning singer and songwriter Fiona Apple has just announced that she will be joining forces with songwriter Blake Mills for a new collaborative effort that will take the two artists on a three week long fall tour. The duo will kick off their US tour on October 3rd with a show in Portland, Oregon. The tour will be called “Anything We Want: An Evening with Fiona Apple and Blake Mills.” During the tour event the artists will be visiting 12 different cities and will wrap their tour up with a two night stay in Washington, DC on October 25th-26th.  During this tour, each artist will not only play some of their biggest individual hits but they will also be performing some new collaborative singles as well. Tickets for this new tour event go on sale on August 2nd.

Almost August

This week the team at Virgin Mobile made an announcement revealing that they will be hosting their fifth annual FreeFest music festival. This year’s festival will be taking place on September 21st at the Merriweather Post pavilion located in Columbia, Maryland. The festival is designed to raise awareness and funds to help put an end to youth homelessness. According to a new statement from Virgin Mobile, this year’s lineup will include some of the industry’s most popular artists all performing simultaneously on different stages, including Robin Thicket, Vampire Weekend and MGMT as well as Pretty Lights and Madeon, among others. This year’s festival will not only focus on rock artists but on electronic dance music as well. Tickets will go on sale to the public on August 9th for those interested in seeing this festival event live.  


In other festival news, it has just been revealed that there will actually be a December music festival this year thanks to the first even True Music Festival that is slated to take place in Scottsdale, Arizona. The event will be reportedly taking place on December 14th. The report on the new music festival has revealed that the festival will include 14 different artists that have yet to be revealed. The team behind the festival has announced however that they are planning on creating a completely unique festival experience with the acts they invite to participate. Pre-sales for tickets to this festival event go on sale beginning August 22nd. 

Riot Fest Chicago And More

This week some of the biggest metal bands in the business made announcements regarding their upcoming tour events, revealing their plans for their new fall outings. The metal band Lamb Of God made one of the first big announcements of the week when they announced that they will be heading out on the road with fellow rockers Killswitch Engage. The new tour event will be heading out on the road and visiting some of the biggest venues in all of North America. The tour event will be kicking off on October 22nd in Toronto, Ontario. During the tour event, the bands will be heading out and visiting 27 different cities across the continent. The tour is slated to wrap up in Silver Spring, Maryland on November 26th. During most of the shows, Testament and Huntress will be performing as opening acts for the bands. During the tour event, fans can expect to hear both of the bands perform some of their biggest hits of their careers as well as some of the new singles that both bands have been recording over the past year. Tickets for the event are on sale now.

Avenge Sevenfold and Phish

This week, some major tour announcements were unveiled from some of today’s most popular rock bands, revealing that the upcoming fall 2014 tour season will be jam packed with must see shows. One of the big announcements of the week came from the heavy metal band Avenge Sevenfold, the band revealed this week that they will be heading out on the road for a new fall headlining tour that will take them to some of the biggest markets in the United States. The tour will officially kick off on October 3rd in Chicago, Illinois. From there the band will make 15 stops to major venues across the country in support of the new tour.

 This new tour will be promoting the band’s latest hit record “All Hail the King” which will be their sixth studio effort. While on tour, fans can expect to hear both new recordings and some of their older biggest hits performed live, the band will be playing a number of their newly recorded singles for audiences at this tour, giving them a peek of the new album which will also come out this August. The tour will also be called the ‘All Hail the King’ tour. Tickets to see the band take the stage live in this new event go on sale to the public on August 2nd.

Summer Is Peaking

This week the hit Swedish pop duo known as Icona Pop made a major announcement regarding their upcoming tour plans. The duo behind the chart topping it “I Love it” has just revealed that they will be heading out on the road for a new headlining tour to support their first album, called “This Is….Icona Pop.” The tour event will kick off with a performance by the band at Lollapalooza on August 2nd. From there the duo will continue to tour around North America. Finally the group will head over to Europe for additional shows before wrapping up the tour event in Stuggart, Germany on October 27th. Tickets to see the duo in their first major tour event are on sale now to the public.CTC Blog Image 6In other major news, Grammy award winning performer Justin Timberlake has made a major announcement about his upcoming tour experience. Even though the performer is only a few dates into his current tour with Jay-Z, he has made an announcement regarding his next solo tour, called “The 20/20 Experience” that will already keep the performer on the road throughout 2014. This week he revealed that he will be adding five additional stops on the tour due to the overwhelming popularity of the event so far. Timberlake will be kicking off his headlining arena tour on October 31st in Montreal, now there will be additional stops including stops in Chicago and Brooklyn.

This week the music world was treated to a major music announcement from one of the most beloved and established rockers in all of popular music today. This is because the Stone Temple Pilots have just announced that they will be heading out on a new tour event, starting this fall. This massive arena tour will feature the band with their new lead vocalist, Chester Bennington, most well known for being a co-vocalist for the band Linkin Park. Bennington took over as the lead singer of the group after the departure of Scott Weiland.

According to the announcement of the band, the tour will kick off in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on September 4th and will take the band to various destinations across the United States. The tour will keep the group on the road throughout most of the fall and will wrap up on November 1st in Biloxi, MI. Currently the Stone Temple Pilots are working on a new EP with Bennington, that is due sometime this fall. On the tour, fans can expect to hear some of the new recordings from this new record as well as some of the biggest songs that the band is so well known for. According to the group, they will be supported on this tour by fellow rockers Filter. Tickets are on sale now to the public for this event.

This week, there have been several big announcements about the upcoming plans for today’s most highly anticipated live New York City productions. One of the biggest announcements of the week came from one of the most highly anticipated productions of the past few years, this of course is the production known as iLuminate Artist of Light.  The production has returned to New York City to the New World Stages this summer and is now performing nightly for audiences. The production tells a story through dance and the use of advanced light technology that creates a stunning visual effect for audiences. The wildly acclaimed production is now being shown in New York City for a limited time.

 Another big production that is now in full swing is the musical production known as Motown. Shortly after debuting on the Broadway stage, the play became the top rated, best-selling show of the season. Following wildly successful previews, the show opened up to the public in full force and is now playing for those who want to relive the glory days of Motown. The musical event features performances of some of the biggest Motown shows to days and is filled with over the top singing and choreography. Tickets sell out most evenings but are now available for those who want to get in on the action.

This week recording artist, Keller Williams made a major announcement about his upcoming plans for the rest of his year in terms of touring. The performer revealed that he will be finishing out the year by touring in a selection of new solo shows. The tour will kick off on July 19th in North Plains, Oregon. The tour is schedule to keep the performer on the road throughout the month of November and will continue more than 40 different stops. Tickets are on sale now for those who want to see the performer take the stage live in this new tour event.

 In other solo tour news, multi-talented folk rock singer, Todd Snider has just announced that he is hitting the road for his new solo outing called the “Without Shoes” tour. The tour event will keep the performer on the road for almost a month as he visits major markets across the United States this fall. The tour event will be kicking off his tour event on October 10th in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The tour will keep the performer on the road throughout the month, visiting cities such as Omaha, Kansas City, Dallas and Santa Fe. The tour will then wrap up in Tomball, Texas on October 29th. Tickets go on sale this month for those looking to see this award winning singer take the stage live in a new event.

Concert News Today

In music news today, the famed rapper Kid Cudi, took the time to announce some major upcoming concert tour news. The rapper revealed that he will be heading out on the road for a new tour event. This fall tour will not only feature vocal performances from Cudi but the rapper will be joined on stage by a number of other performers as well. According to the announcement from the performer, Big Sean, Logic and Tyler the Creator will all be joining Kid Cudi on tour for this new event. The new tour will be called “the Cud Life Tour” and it will officially kick off in Las Vegas, Nevada on August 23rd. From there Cudi and his opening acts will visit several major markets including Boston, Vancouver and Columbus, Ohio. The tour will keep the rapper on the road throughout most of the fall. Tickets to see Kid Cudi live are now on sale for select dates, with additional dates going on sale sometime this month.

CTC Entertainment Midweek Update

This week, Phil Lesh and Bob Weir’s famed band Furthur, made a major announcement regarding their upcoming tour schedule. The former Grateful Dead performers revealed that they would be heading out for some major market performances that will take place this fall. The band which is currently on tour now, has revealed that they will be taking a short break in August and then heading back on the road for some newly announced performances. This trek will include stops in major markets as well as a performance at the Interlocken Music Festival in Septembe

The band will also do a three night stay at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles October 4th-6th.   This tour will mark the return of the band after Weir collapsed in April during a New York performance. Tickets for the newly added concert dates are on sale now and available to the public.
