Farewell to REM

By Amy | September 30th, 2011

After 31 years of hit albums and sold out live shows, the iconic group R.E.M. has decided it’s time to end their run. Says the lead singer Michael Stipe, “A wise man once said – ‘the skill in attending is knowing when it’s time to leave.’ We built something extraordinary together. We did this thing. And now we’re going to walk away from it.” The band, which started back in 1980 and holds the distinction of once being called “America’s Best Rock and Roll Band” by magazine Rolling Stone, will be remembered fondly by its many fans, and will leave its mark on the alternative scene for a good long time.

Irene’s Coming to Visit

By Amy | August 26th, 2011

Stories like this one and this one are cropping up around the internet on local websites regarding events that are being cancelled due to Hurricane Irene’s impending arrival on the East Coast. If you are a ticket holder to an event over the next week in the East Coast, be SURE to check your venue’s website to make sure the event is still going on before you head out! Even if the storm’s already passed, if there’s a chance it was in an area that sustained any damage, it’s still a good idea to check with your venue before making an evening of a concert or theater event.

(On that note, everyone stay safe and dry!)

Will a license really help?

By Amy | August 23rd, 2011

Requiring street-side ticket sellers to purchase an annual license is a good start to curbing ticket fraud, but how much will it really work? Will the average parent looking for Miley Cyrus tickets be able to tell a fake license from a real one? And how long does it take for someone standing on a street corner to sell a couple tickets then flee?

As you’d probably guess, we’re not fans of the street-side seller, because you never know what you’re getting, and if for any reason your transaction goes sour, good luck ever finding that person again. At Coast to Coast, we take our reputation seriously, because we’re not here just for a couple sales. A large percentage of our business comes from repeat customers, and that wouldn’t be the case unless we followed through on our guarantees and provided great tickets at great prices!

Taylor Swift’s touring through November

By Amy | June 27th, 2011

If you have a Taylor Swift fan in your house, they’re probably following the news from her Speak Now tour – and from the looks of these pics and these photos, there are Taylor Swift fans in LOTS of houses.

Ever tried to imagine what the life of a young star is like? Hopping from show to show, at massive venues like Philips Arena, Air Canada Centre and Prudential Center? And we thought we were busy. She’s on the road through November of this year, so there are still plenty of opportunities to catch the show!

New Kids on the Block are on the road!

By Amy | June 1st, 2011

The New Kids on the Block – who are, of course, no longer kids, pretty much created the boy band genre back in the 80′s – and they’re bigger and better now, with gorgeous shows that rival the biggest tours of 2011.

They’re on the road again through August, hitting both sides of the US before ending up in Canada. NKOTB tickets are available now, so check out the schedule to find their closest stop to you!

Willie out sick this week

By Amy | April 20th, 2011

Ouch, this has to hurt… Country icon Willie Nelson will be postponing six concerts this week due to illness.

From his official site: “We regret to inform you that the Willie Nelson concerts scheduled for tonight 4/19 through 4/23 have been canceled due to illness, and will be rescheduled as soon as possible. We will notify everyone as soon as we know when the new concert dates will be held. All shows after 4/23 will continue on as planned.”

Tickets will be good for the new rescheduled dates, although some of those dates have not yet been announced. If you’re a ticketholder, be sure to check his official site periodically for those new dates!

It’s Baseball Season!

By Amy | April 6th, 2011

It’s that time of year, when the bats start swinging and the bases start… well, the bases just sit, really. But it’s still a hot time when MLB gets underway! We’ve just updated our team pages with the previews for the year, and we’re as excited as anyone else to see who’s going to come out on top. Will the Anaheim Angels regain their dominion over the AL West? Will the Twins and the Tigers keep their hold on the AL Central? Will the Toronto Blue Jays keep being the team that no one even remembers is *in* the AL East?

So many questions, so many games, so many tickets!
