Cardinals ramping up excitement with new 2012 commercials

By Amy | March 30th, 2012

The St. Louis Cardinals were a BIG deal last year to anyone not living under a rock. (Our apologies to anyone who does, in fact, happen to live under a rock.) Want to relieve a few of those feel-good moments? Check out the Cardinals’ line of 2012 commercials here and vote for your favorites. Baseball fan or not, you can’t help but feel the excitement of the sport in these – and the new MLB season isn’t far away now!

(And psst – you don’t have to be the first to buy to get the good seats. We’ve got them here on our St. Louis Cardinals page.)

NBA is ON!

By Amy | December 21st, 2011

To the extreme relief of basketball fans everywhere, the NBA has finally gotten past their disagreements and will be playing on Christmas Day.

And who are the teams to watch this year? The Miami Heat are looking good, with LeBron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh showing real promise in this short season. The Dallas Mavericks are also a good bet, with an NBA title under their belts, although the recent loss of Tyson Chandler could prove a stumbling block. The Chicago Bulls are looking good, and will still be creating headlines with the NBA’s youngest ever MVP winner, Derrick Rose. The Oklahoma City Thunder, while one of the younger teams in the NBA, are promising a good offense this year. WIll it be enough? And the LA Lakers, one of the most celebrated teams in the NBA, has a new coach, which could mark a return to the winner’s circle.

The season this year is short, which means tickets may be tough to get for some games, but we’ll have access to the best seats long after they’re sold out. Don’t miss out on an historic season – check your schedule and get your basketball tickets now!

NBA Season looking unlikely this year

By Amy | November 14th, 2011

As time ticks away without an NBA season, the refusal of the players to meet owners’ demands continues. Today marked a key day in the discussions – one where David Stern offered 51% profits to the players, leaving the team owners with 49% to pay for – well – pretty much everything else from team management to a full staff of people hired to take care of the players. But it’s not enough.

Where does that leave the NBA now? Possibly nowhere for the 2011-2012 season, at least, and it’s a given that the lack of a season is going to have an effect on future sales. Given that the exorbitant player salaries wouldn’t be so exorbitant in the first place if the NBA weren’t so profitable, this seems like a self-defeating play that can’t end well.

Hockey’s looking better than ever.

Billy Elliot announces an end date

By Amy | October 5th, 2011

In keeping with the sudden trend of goodbye posts on this blog, the wildly acclaimed theater smash Billy Elliot has announced that it will end its three-year run on Broadway on January 8, 2012. Since opening in late 2008, ticket sales have stayed fairly constant, but no run can last forever – and Billy Elliott will be ending on a high note. That means, of course, that if you haven’t seen it yet and have been putting it off, now is the time to get tickets! You can find our Billy Elliott tickets here.

Adele out for now

By Amy | October 5th, 2011

Sad news for Adele fans: all her October concert tour dates have been cancelled to give her time to recover from vocal ailments. From Adele on her site: “I have absolutely no choice but to recuperate properly and fully, or I risk damaging my voice forever.” Adele added, “my voice is weak and I need to build it back up. I’m gonna be starting up vocal rehab as soon as, and start building my over all stamina in my voice, body and mind. I will be back and I’m gonna smash the ball out the park once I’m touring again.”

Stay tuned to Coast to Coast, where we’ll have tickets to her shows once they’ve been rescheduled, and we wish Adele a full a speedy recovery!

Farewell to REM

By Amy | September 30th, 2011

After 31 years of hit albums and sold out live shows, the iconic group R.E.M. has decided it’s time to end their run. Says the lead singer Michael Stipe, “A wise man once said – ‘the skill in attending is knowing when it’s time to leave.’ We built something extraordinary together. We did this thing. And now we’re going to walk away from it.” The band, which started back in 1980 and holds the distinction of once being called “America’s Best Rock and Roll Band” by magazine Rolling Stone, will be remembered fondly by its many fans, and will leave its mark on the alternative scene for a good long time.

Irene’s Coming to Visit

By Amy | August 26th, 2011

Stories like this one and this one are cropping up around the internet on local websites regarding events that are being cancelled due to Hurricane Irene’s impending arrival on the East Coast. If you are a ticket holder to an event over the next week in the East Coast, be SURE to check your venue’s website to make sure the event is still going on before you head out! Even if the storm’s already passed, if there’s a chance it was in an area that sustained any damage, it’s still a good idea to check with your venue before making an evening of a concert or theater event.

(On that note, everyone stay safe and dry!)

Will a license really help?

By Amy | August 23rd, 2011

Requiring street-side ticket sellers to purchase an annual license is a good start to curbing ticket fraud, but how much will it really work? Will the average parent looking for Miley Cyrus tickets be able to tell a fake license from a real one? And how long does it take for someone standing on a street corner to sell a couple tickets then flee?

As you’d probably guess, we’re not fans of the street-side seller, because you never know what you’re getting, and if for any reason your transaction goes sour, good luck ever finding that person again. At Coast to Coast, we take our reputation seriously, because we’re not here just for a couple sales. A large percentage of our business comes from repeat customers, and that wouldn’t be the case unless we followed through on our guarantees and provided great tickets at great prices!

By Amy | June 27th, 2011

If you have a Taylor Swift fan in your house, they’re probably following the news from her Speak Now tour – and from the looks of these pics and these photos, there are Taylor Swift fans in LOTS of houses.

Ever tried to imagine what the life of a young star is like? Hopping from show to show, at massive venues like Philips Arena, Air Canada Centre and Prudential Center? And we thought we were busy. She’s on the road through November of this year, so there are still plenty of opportunities to catch the show!
