Not sure why the blog decided to post today’s Twitter highlights 4 times… I’ve deleted the extras, and would like to reassure you that while we think the last day’s twitter posts were fascinating, they weren’t fascinating enough to warrant posting four times. :)

All Dressed Up and Nowhere To Go?

By Amy | December 11th, 2009

To help you plan out some glad tidings for you and your kin, we’ve compiled a list of holiday events, and as you’ve already guessed, we’ve got tickets for them all at Coast to Coast!

Let’s start with the granddaddy of all Christmas shows, or the Radio City Christmas Spectacular! 2008 was the largest production in the show’s 77-year history, and this year’s tour has expanded to 31 cities, making it the most cities ever visited in one season! You can catch this year’s show, featuring the Parade of the Wooden Soldiers, a tour of Santa’s workshop, a Living Nativity, and of course the stunning Rockettes in its home location of New York’s Radio City Music Hall, as well as Louisville, Cincinnati, Nashville, Lexington, Grand Prairie, Greenville, Seattle, Fairfax and Baltimore – just to  name a few. Then again, maybe none of those are close enough? Well, if you’re in Atlantic City, you can catch the Spirit of Christmas at the Atlantic City Hilton, complete with your favorite Christmas songs, dazzling costumes and high-kicking chorus girls.

In Redding, CA and York, PA?  Celtic Christmas brings native Irish storytelling featuring Grammy-award winning guitar, haunting vocals, Irish fiddles, world-champion level Irish dancers and more to the stage in your hometown!

What to buy, what to buy…

By Amy | December 11th, 2009

If you’re like everyone else when it comes to holidays, you’re racking your brain trying to figure out what to give Mom, Dad, and Uncle Bob for Christmas (okay, so we know that at least one of you reading probably finished your shopping back in July, but we’re talking to the rest of you here). And if you’re like most of us, you run into the same problem every year… if it’s something that your loved one would like, chances are they’ve already got it. Remember that snazzy breadmaker you saw in the department store? They’ve got that tucked away under the kitchen counter. And that striped golf shirt you debated over for Dad? Sure, it’ll look great hanging next to his other 56 striped golf shirts.

Your best bet to get out of this mess is to not buy an item, but an experience! There’s no way your Mom has a Jimmy Buffett concert tucked under her kitchen counter, and we can absolutely promise that your Dad doesn’t have a Masters tournament hanging next to his plaid golf pants. If you know anything at all about the people on your shopping list, you’re bound to know whether they’re a theater fan, or hugely into (squeee!) the Jonas Brothers – and with that info, you’re armed to buy them something that they’ll absolutely love, and something they definitely don’t have.

Sports Fansite Contest Winners Announced!

By Amy | November 16th, 2009

All right, the contest has ended, and it’s time to announce the winners!

There are three separate prizes of two sports tickets each. The first prize is for the site with the most votes, and with 71 votes, the winner of those two tickets is TheCaptainsDeck.net, run by Dan Doering! Congrats to Dan, who did a really impressive job mobilizing his fans to come vote throughout the week.

I also want to take a moment to congratulate SteelheadzofVA.com, run by Chris Lavendier, on coming in second with 28 votes, as well as give a nod to DirtDrivers.com, NorthsideBaseball.com and FenwayNation.com on filling out the top 5 spots with 25 votes, 17 votes, and 16 votes respectively.

So on to the second and third prize of two sports tickets each, awarded through a random drawing taken from all 210 total votes. And the randomly drawn vote was… (insert drum roll here)… Melissa Lynn Werner, voting for GloveRepair.com! That means two tickets for Melissa as the randomly drawn voter, and two tickets for GloveRepair.com, run by Rick Werner, as the site mentioned in the randomly drawn vote. Congratulations to Melissa and Rick on those tickets!
