Chicago White Sox Ticket News

By David Jacobs | August 13th, 2014

The Chicago White Sox have had an interesting season. At the beginning of the year, expectations were low. The Detroit Tigers have firmly planted their flag as the team to beat in the AL Central, and the Cleveland Indians were able to get a wild card berth in 2013. The upstart Kansas City Royals also showed quite a bit of promise in 2013, so it looked as though the White Sox would be battling the Twins for fourth place.

White Sox Team

As we sit here in August, the White Sox do in fact sit in fourth place, but there has been much reason for promise. Chris Sale has solidified himself as a bonafide ace, with an ERA just a shade over 2.00 and a WHIP below 1.00. In addition, other young players have impressed, including third basemen Conor Gillaspie who sports a batting average north of .300 and offseason acquisition Adam Eaton who also is batting over .300 with an OPS just below .800.

But the big reason for promise has been the incredible play of Jose Abreu, the Cuban sensation who has already belted more than 30 home runs this season in under 100 games. Abreu appears to be the centerpiece of their offense that they have missed since the days of Paul Konerko’s dominance and fans are eagerly awaiting to see his career unfold.

Houston Texans Ticket Prices

By David Jacobs | August 12th, 2014

With the first pick of the 2014 NFL Draft, the Houston Texans selected Jadeveon Clowney, the superstar defensive end out of South Carolina. While there may be questions about Clowney’s motor or work ethic, he is undoubtedly one of the most athletically gifted individuals to come out of the draft in recent memory. Teaming him up with J.J. Watt, the Texans hope these two stalwarts will terrorize opposing quarterbacks for years to come. Now the question is, how much will it be for fans to see them play?

The Texans open up play against Robert Griffin III and the Washington Redskins on September 7th. Houston Texans tickets for the game have an average ticket price of $243 while the cheapest ticket you’ll be able to find is $75. Fans looking to sit in the lower level will find tickets starting at $158 in the end zone seats, with corner seats available for only $145 and ticket between the 40’s beginning at $189 (with an average price of a whopping $496.)

Dallas Cowboys Tickets

By David Jacobs | August 11th, 2014

Three years running the Dallas Cowboys have been on the doorstep of the playoffs but have been unable to cross the threshold. In 2011, it was Eli Manning and the New York Giants who were able to hold off Tony Rom and company in Week 17, eventually defeating the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl. Two years ago, rookie sensation Robert Griffin III led the Washington Redskins to a home victory over the Cowboys, with a Romo interception late in the game sealing the deal. And last year, Nick Foles and the Philadelphia Eagles toppled Dallas, taking the NFC East crown and sending the Cowboys packing.

But hope is renewed in 2014 and the Cowboys believe they have the strongest unit in recent memory. During the offseason, Jerry Jones and the Cowboys brass shored up the offensive line and they hope youngsters on the defensive side of the ball will be ready to take the next step after a year of seasoning.

It will not be an easy beginning, as the Cowboys kick off the season with a big home matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. The Niners have had their own struggles over the past few years, falling in the NFC Championship game twice and succumbing to the Ravens two years ago in the Super Bowl. For fans looking to attend the home opener, Dallas Cowboys tickets begin at $152 and currently have an average ticket price of $432.

Boston Red Sox

By David Jacobs | August 10th, 2014

It seems that each and every year, no one knows what to expect out of the Boston Red Sox when the trade deadline approaches.  Two years ago, the team was mired in one of its worst seasons in recent memory, completely quitting on first year manager Bobby Valentine by the time July 31st rolled around. It wasn’t until just after the deadline, however, when the unloaded the contracts of Adrian Gonzalez, Carl Crawford, and Josh Beckett to the Los Angeles Dodgers. By ridding themselves of those three players, the Red Sox were able to spend a little extra on players they coveted during the winter of 2012-2013, eventually building a championship contender. Last year, the Red Sox acquired Jake Peavy at the trade deadline, a move that helped them solidify their stranglehold on the AL East division, and ultimately helped them win a World Series crown.

Well, 2014 has not gone exactly to plan for the Boston faithful. Peavy was eventually shipped out as the team skidded into the All-Star break, along with three other members of the starting rotation – Jon Lester, John Lackey, and Felix Doubront.  Johnny Gomes was moved as well, and the Red Sox look to be spending the final months of the 2014 season allowing their young players to get some valuable reps and try to see if new acquisitions such as Yoenis Cespedes, Joe Kelly, and Allen Craig will be permanent fixtures on future Red Sox teams.

Denver Broncos 2014

By David Jacobs | August 7th, 2014

Peyton Manning will surely not be pleased with the final result of the 2013 season. After guiding the Denver Broncos to a historically great regular season, Manning and crew faltered in the Super Bowl at MetLife Stadium, succumbing to the suffocating defense of the Seattle Seahawks. Manning looked dazed and confused in the pocket all game long and never seemed to be on the same page as his receivers. After putting up numbers worthy of the record books during the regular season, Manning could not put the icing on the cake and take home the Lombardi Trophy.

But the 2014 season provides a fresh chance for manning and the Broncos as the look to win the franchise’s first Super Bowl since the days of John Elway. The Broncos open with a home game against the Indianapolis Colts, Manning’s former team. Quarterback Andrew Luck will look to capture the upset in the first week, but expect the Broncos to be close to a touchdown favorite in the game. For fans looking to attend, the cheapest Denver Broncos tickets currently available is $129 with an average ticket price of $449.

Atlanta Falcons Schedule and News

By David Jacobs | August 6th, 2014

The Atlanta Falcons are looking for revenge in the 2014 season. Following a dismal 2013 that saw them plummet from the top of the NFC in 2012 all the way down to having the 6th pick of the 2014 draft, Atlanta is looking to bounce back and provide some stiff competition for the rest of the AFC South. The Falcons took offensive tackle Jake Matthews with that first round pick, looking to shore up an offensive line that was their primary weakness last year. In addition, a healthy season out of Julio Jones and Roddy White would go a long way in getting the Falcons back to thirteen wins.

The Falcons schedule will certainly not be easy this year with two key home matchups in the month of September to start the season off. Atlanta opens with a dangerous matchup against Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints. While the Saints did not win the NFC South last year (falling short to Cam newton and the Carolina Panthers,) they are always considered one of the favorites in the NFC and the Falcons can make a big statement by taking the opener at home. Currently, the average ticket price for the game is $219 with a get-in price of $72.
