This week there were many exciting new announcements regarding some of the biggest acts in music today. One of the first big announcements came from Michael Franti. The legendary rocker revealed that he will be heading out on the road for his first ever acoustic tour. This new tour will feature acoustic covers of some of the musician’s biggest songs to date. The tour kicks off this week with an October 6th performance in Santa Cruz, California. From there the rocker will head out to 14 different cities across the United States and Canada. Tickets are on sale now for this intimate new opportunity to see the guitarist play live.

The War on Drugs and Fleetwood Mac News

This week, the popular band The War on Drugs, just announced that they will be heading out on a new tour across the U.S. this fall. The band will be supporting their latest album, Lost in the Dream, during this new outing. After performing for several weeks in Europe, the indie group is planning on making their way to the United States. The tour will officially kick off in Raleigh, North Carolina, on August 9th, and then the band will be stopping at the Boston Calling Festival in Massachusetts before starting to tour around the country. Along the tour, the group will be stopping in Los Angeles, Austin, San Francisco and Detroit, among other major markets. The group will stay on the road throughout the fall. The band will be touring around Europe through July. Tickets for the remaining European shows and for their newly unveiled US stops are on sale now and available to the public.

Another major announcement this week came from the iconic group, Fleetwood Mac. The band, who just revealed earlier this season, that they would be heading out on the road for a new tour event, have just made another announcement regarding their upcoming outing. This week one of the major announcements in the touring world came from the group Danity Kane. According to an announcement from the band, the girl group is set to reunite this summer for a new tour called the “No Filter” tour. All of the original members of the group, except for member D. Woods will be coming back together for a new coast-to-coast tour. Members of the band will be coming back together after breaking up in 2009 following the success of hits such as “Damaged.” The band will officially kick off their tour in May and will travel around to several major cities such as St. Louis, Philadelphia and Cincinnati during this outing. The Reunion Tour Even Stevie Nicks Didn’t Think Would Happen – Christine McVie Reunion Tour with Fleetwood Mac

Stevie Nicks said it wouldn’t happen. No one believed Christine McVie would reunite with Fleetwood Mac for a reunion tour. But just days ago Fleetwood Mac announced their reunion tour dates with Christine McVie. After quitting the band in 1998, McVie is back to tour with the band in September and even possibly put out a new album.

On With the Show, appropriately titled, will begin on Tuesday September 30 in Minneapolis, Minnesota at the Target Center. It’s just the beginning of a 34 show tour in 33 cities across the US. American Express card holders will have the privilege of being able to buy tickets
before the general public beginning today, March 31 at 10am, through Sunday April 6pm at 10pm. The general public will be able to buy their tickets beginning April 7 Monday through the Live National mobile app as well as Live Nation’s website.

This week it was revealed that in the world of live entertainment, several of the biggest acts in the industry would be taking the road for new 2013 tour events. One of the biggest announcements of the week came from iconic comedian Steve Martin. The multi-talented performer announced this week that he would be heading out on the road with The Steep Canyon Rangers for an all-new 2013 American Tour. The tour will also feature performances from Edie Brickell. This US tour will kick off in Fort Meyers, FL on May 22 and will feature 15 different stops. Tickets for the tour event are on sale now.

Meanwhile announcements were also revealed for the 43rd annual Jazz Fest in New Orleans. This year’s event will take place from April 26th through May 5th and will feature performances from Billy Joel, Fleetwood Mac, Maroon 5, Frank Ocean, Little Big Town and B.B. King. Tickets for the event, including VIP packages are now on sale online at the festival’s official website where all passes are available to the public.

This week the entertainment world was given several big announcements regarding upcoming events in the theatre, sports and music realms. The announcement began with a big reveal from the Broadway world when the highly anticipated musical Golden Boy opened up on Broadway this week. The 1937 story received a makeover and retelling that will bring the classic tale to life in a whole new way. The new production will feature former War Horse star Seth Numrich in the starring role. The premier of the new Broadway musical is set for this week and tickets for those looking to see the event live on the Broadway stage are now available to the public.

Meanwhile, the final match ups for the 2013 college bowl series was announced earlier this week and it was revealed that the BCS title showdown would take place between top ranked Notre Dame; and number two team Alabama. Ticket sales have already set records for this upcoming matchup so those who are looking to get tickets to see the national championships live will want to act quickly. Along with the announcement about the BCS title game; match ups for the Cotton, Chik-Fil-A, Rose Bowl and Fiesta Bowl; all big college bowl games were also revealed. All current bowl game tickets are now on sale and available to the public just in time for bowl season which is set to kick off after the holidays.
