A stones throw away from the streets of Broadway is the Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, the new state of the art arena that opened earlier this month. The center announced on Thursday that they would be brining the New York Islanders to Brooklyn in an official 25 year agreement deal that will uproot the Islanders beginning in the 2015-2016 season. The huge announcement came directly after it was revealed that the Islanders and the rest of the teams in the NHL would be allowed to return to the ice beginning November 1st, after the league reached an agreement deal that allowed the normal season to resume. This will have the Islanders back at home next week at their normal arena at Nassau County. In the mean time, the newly unveiled Barclays Center will be gearing up for one of their biggest events of the year, just weeks after opening.

This event will come in the form of the first official game of the Brooklyn Nets after moving from New Jersey and changing their name. The Nets will not only be christening the basketball courts of the new Barclays Center, but they will also be bringing in a massive crowd of New Yorkers to the first home game of the season as they will be taking on city rivals the New York Knicks. This is a NBA event that fans will not want to miss.  Do you have your tickets yet?
