This week the music world was all a buzz because some of the biggest artists in the industry have made major announcements about their upcoming tour schedules. Rapper Kanye West revealed that he will be heading out on the road for a new tour event that is scheduled to kick off this fall to promote his latest album, Yeezus. The rapper has not been on a solo venture in years and his last tour event was alongside fellow R&B superstar Jay-Z. Now the rap mogul has revealed that he too will be heading out on a new solo tour event.

Jay-Z revealed to the public late last week that he will be heading out on a brand new tour event to promote his latest album Magna Carta Holy Grail. This album launched on July 4th and quickly shot to the top of the charts and became of the best-selling albums of the summer. During this time, Jay-Z also went on tour with Justin Timberlake, who is featured on the album for a summer long “Legends of Summer” tour event. This concert was one of the best-selling concerts of the year and prompted the rapper to head out on his own new solo tour venture to continue to promote his latest album.

Summer Is Peaking

This week the hit Swedish pop duo known as Icona Pop made a major announcement regarding their upcoming tour plans. The duo behind the chart topping it “I Love it” has just revealed that they will be heading out on the road for a new headlining tour to support their first album, called “This Is….Icona Pop.” The tour event will kick off with a performance by the band at Lollapalooza on August 2nd. From there the duo will continue to tour around North America. Finally the group will head over to Europe for additional shows before wrapping up the tour event in Stuggart, Germany on October 27th. Tickets to see the duo in their first major tour event are on sale now to the public.CTC Blog Image 6In other major news, Grammy award winning performer Justin Timberlake has made a major announcement about his upcoming tour experience. Even though the performer is only a few dates into his current tour with Jay-Z, he has made an announcement regarding his next solo tour, called “The 20/20 Experience” that will already keep the performer on the road throughout 2014. This week he revealed that he will be adding five additional stops on the tour due to the overwhelming popularity of the event so far. Timberlake will be kicking off his headlining arena tour on October 31st in Montreal, now there will be additional stops including stops in Chicago and Brooklyn.  

Summer Festival Update

This week, new information was revealed about one of the biggest music festivals in the entire country known as MusicFestNW. The multi-venue festival which is held in Portland every year will be taking place this year on September 3rd through September 8th. This year the event will feature performances from more than 30 different artists. One of the many unique facets of this event is that it actually features artists performing in a variety of different venues across Portland. According to reports from the festival, artists will include Animal Collective, The Head and the Heart, Godspeed You!, Young the Giant and more. The festival is actually known for being the third largest music festival in the United States, with thousands attending the vent every year. Those who are interested in getting tickets to see MusicFestNW will find that tickets will go on sale on May 31st.

Legends of Summer tour & The Heartbreaker Tour

This week, the band Heart also announced a new tour event. The rock duo revealed that they will be hitting the road for a new 2013 tour called the Heartbreaker Tour. The Wilson sisters will also be joined on stage by Jason Bonham during the event, the son of Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham. Together the two acts will be performing a thirty minute tribute to Led Zeppelin at the end of every concert. The tour is slated to kick off on June 17th with the tour beginning in West Palm Beach, Florida. There will be more than 30 stops along the tour until it wraps up in Ridgefield, WA. Select concert dates are on sale now and tickets for the Los Angeles show and other stops along the tour go on sale May 10th.

While many have been talking about the upcoming Heart tour; there is no denying that most eyes in the music world have been on Justin Timberlake, as he made a major announcement this week about his upcoming tour. After revealing that he would be giving fans a glimpse at his latest musical creations when he heads out on his 2013 Legends of Summer tour with Jay Z, Timberlake had another announcement up his sleeve for fans. This week, the singer revealed that after the 12 city Legends of Summer tour ends that he will be heading out on his own headlining tour on the 20/20 Experience Tour.

This week it was revealed that the hit band Phish would be taking the road in a new live tour event. The wildly popular jam band has been part of the music scene for years and is often hailed as one of the most popular bands to see live in concert. Much to the delight of fans from all over the country, the Vermont-based rockers will be heading out on a tour that will start this summer. The 2013 Phish summer tour event will features several multiple-night stays in venues such as Commerce City, Colorado, Saratoga Springs and San Francisco. The band will be performing three nights in a row during these three spots. Although the band is making a handful of several night residencies, fans should still get their tickets early as this group is known for selling out some of the biggest arenas in the country fast night after night. This week iconic performer, Jimmy Buffett and his band, the Coral Reefer Band, announced that he would be officially adding additional stops on the 2013 tour around the United States. The 2013 tour, which kicks off this spring, will now keep the performer on the road for most of the summer of 2013. Tickets for the tour dates, including the recently added dates are on sale to the public now.

While many will be turning to the old favorite, Jimmy Buffet in order to get tickets to see him perform live after decades in the industry, those who are looking for something new in terms of live entertainment will be treated to a special entertainment spectacular this week. The live musical ‘Your Hardbody Handbook” starts its premiers this week in New York City. This new American musical, inspired by real events is based on the 1997 documentary of the same name; making it one of the first musical Broadway productions to be based on a documentary. From the creative minds behind Memphis and Jersey Boys comes this new production that takes a look at modern American life and features hit musical selections from acclaimed recording artist Trey Anastasio from Phish. This production promises to be unlike any other in the work of live theatre. Previews start February 23rd and tickets are on sale for the production now.

This week one of the biggest acts in music today, Bruno Mars, announced that he would be heading out on the road for a brand new world tour. Mars revealed the information this week on his appearance on The Ellen Degeneres Show, and announced that the new tour will be heading out around the globe. The singer will kick off the tour in North America this summer and stay out on the road while visiting cities like Atlanta, Los Angeles, Chicago and Miami during the summer. After the North American leg of the tour wraps up, the singer will be hitting the road for the European leg of the tour that will keep him overseas for weeks. While on tour, the talented performer will be joined by pop sensation Ellie Goulding. Tickets for the event go on sale next week and will be available to the public at that time.

While man fans of the pop superstar Bruno Mars have been anxiously awaiting this tour news; the biggest announcement of the week came from two of today’s leading performers. After a wildly successful performance at the Grammy Awards, singer Justin Timberlake announced that he would be heading on the road with his co-performer for the Grammys, Jay-Z on a new stadium tour.
