This week Rodrigo y Gabriela, the famed Mexican guitar duo revealed that they will be hitting the road in a new summer time tour. The band will be touring around the West Coast in their tour called the “Area 52” tour. The duo will kick off their tour on May 12th in Napa, California at the Bottle Rock Festival. The band will then continue to tour around the country delivering audiences with performances of some of their biggest songs to date. The tour will keep the band on the road through August 3rd, where they will finish up their tour in Boston, MA. Tickets for the group’s shows are on sale and available to the public right now.

Another big announcement of the week came when TD Garden and Live Nation revealed that they would be hosting an event called Boston Strong: An Evening of Support and Celebration. The event will be help on Thursday May 30th at the TD Garden and is designed to benefit The One Fund Boston after the tragic events that took place at the Boston Marathon. The event will feature performances from bands like Aerosmith, Jason Aldean, Jimmy Buffett, Boston, Extreme, Dane Cook, New Kids on the Block and more. Tickets are on sale now.

However, one of the biggest announcements of the week came from St. Louis, Missouri, when the official line up for the two-night LouFest was revealed to the public. This will be the fourth annual event and will take place from September 7th-September 8th in Forest Park at Central Field. During the event more than 30 acts will take the stage and perform at one of the three platforms in place in the city’s massive public park. According to the team behind the LouFest, The Killers and Wilco will be headlining the LouFest and will be closing out the two night festival. Other bands set to perform at the event include Edward Sharpe, Alabama Shakes, the Magnetic Zeros, Local Natives, Jim James and more.

Buffett, Timberlake and Jay-Z

This week iconic performer, Jimmy Buffett and his band, the Coral Reefer Band, announced that he would be officially adding additional stops on the 2013 tour around the United States. The 2013 tour, which kicks off this spring, will now keep the performer on the road for most of the summer of 2013. Tickets for the tour dates, including the recently added dates are on sale to the public now.

While many will be turning to the old favorite, Jimmy Buffet in order to get tickets to see him perform live after decades in the industry, those who are looking for something new in terms of live entertainment will be treated to a special entertainment spectacular this week. The live musical ‘Your Hardbody Handbook” starts its premiers this week in New York City. This new American musical, inspired by real events is based on the 1997 documentary of the same name; making it one of the first musical Broadway productions to be based on a documentary. From the creative minds behind Memphis and Jersey Boys comes this new production that takes a look at modern American life and features hit musical selections from acclaimed recording artist Trey Anastasio from Phish. This production promises to be unlike any other in the work of live theatre. Previews start February 23rd and tickets are on sale for the production now.

After an announcement came last week revealing that Justin Timberlake and Jay Z would be heading out on the road for a 2013 summer tour, this week the two performers announced more information on their upcoming tour. The duo revealed the official line up for their tour which will be called the “Legends of Summer Tour” the Grammy Award winning artists will be heading out on the road to some of the biggest venues in the country beginning with a July 17th performance in Toronto. The concert will keep the performers on the road through August 16th when their final concert will be played in Miami.
