This week, new information was revealed to the public about a new concert tribute event for the late performer George Jones. While on his “The Grand Tour” event, which was scheduled to be his final tour of his career, the singer passed away. On April 26th the performer died leaving many fans shocked and devastated. Jones had yet to complete his farewell tour and still had shows as well as a special final performance on November 22nd scheduled.
This performance was slated to be the last ever event for the performer and now many in the music world have decided to turn this concert date into a special tribute event to pay homage to the late country icon. All of the artists that will be performing at the event had already signed up to perform alongside Jones in hie farewell concert. Now these artists will perform on their own paying tribute to the famous country singer. Performers for the event include The Oak Ridge Boys, Kid Rock and more. Tickets are on sale now for those who are looking to see this special concert tribute event live.
Another major music collaboration has also been announced this week, when the official lineup for the new LivingSocial music festival event was released. The team behind the LivingSocial Backyard Festival revealed that legendary rockers Aerosmith will be headlining the event. The show will be a one day only event set to take place on July 13th on New York City’s Randall Island. The goal of the concert event is to showcase some of the most beloved rock icons in the business. Along with Aerosmith the concert will include performances by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Yeasayer and more. In addition to having live musical events at the one day festival, the concert is being set up to mimic a summer time back yard party.
