This week, new information was revealed to the public about a new concert tribute event for the late performer George Jones. While on his “The Grand Tour” event, which was scheduled to be his final tour of his career, the singer passed away. On April 26th the performer died leaving many fans shocked and devastated. Jones had yet to complete his farewell tour and still had shows as well as a special final performance on November 22nd scheduled.

This performance was slated to be the last ever event for the performer and now many in the music world have decided to turn this concert date into a special tribute event to pay homage to the late country icon. All of the artists that will be performing at the event had already signed up to perform alongside Jones in hie farewell concert. Now these artists will perform on their own paying tribute to the famous country singer. Performers for the event include The Oak Ridge Boys, Kid Rock and more. Tickets are on sale now for those who are looking to see this special concert tribute event live.

Another major music collaboration has also been announced this week, when the official lineup for the new LivingSocial music festival event was released. The team behind the LivingSocial Backyard Festival revealed that legendary rockers Aerosmith will be headlining the event. The show will be a one day only event set to take place on July 13th on New York City’s Randall Island. The goal of the concert event is to showcase some of the most beloved rock icons in the business. Along with Aerosmith the concert will include performances by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Yeasayer and more. In addition to having live musical events at the one day festival, the concert is being set up to mimic a summer time back yard party.

NBA Playoffs, Kid Rock and More

This week, many may have head their sights set on the college men’s basketball national championship game and all of the free concerts being offered in Atlanta as part of the event, but this week, the world of entertainment is being treated to a number of new and exciting announcements that have many geared up for the summer and all of the excitement it will bring now that ‘March Madness’ is over. One of the biggest announcements of the week still came from the world of basketball. With just a few games left in the regular NBA season, some of the qualifying teams for the 2013 NBA playoffs have been announced this week; getting many basketball fans excited for the upcoming playoffs that are set to kick off at the end of the month. Teams that have already clinched a definitive spot in the 2013 playoffs include the San Antonio Spurs, the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Miami Heat. The schedule for the NBA playoffs as well as ticketing information is expected to be released next week.

In another type of exciting live entertainment; a new announcement came from the creative minds behind the hit Broadway musical “Once.” The Tony Award winning musical production is set to head out on a new theatre run to help bring the hit musical to more audiences across the country. This week the creative minds behind “Once” announced that the production would be beginning its Phoenix Theatre run and that it would be opening at West End Phoenix Theatre on April 9th. The critically acclaimed musical will be playing at the theatre for an extended run.  Tickets to see “Once” live and on stage in Phoenix are now available to the public.

However, the biggest announcement of the week undoubtedly came from iconic rocker Kid Rock. The platinum selling artist announced this week that he would be hitting the road for a new summer tour event. All of the tickets for the tour will be offered to fans for just $20 as a way to help bring a more affordable concert experience to fans across the country. The tour called the “$20 Best Night Ever Tour” will take the rocker across the country all summer to some of the biggest venues in the USA. Pro Bowl Weekend

With this weekend being the annual NFL Pro Bowl, and tickets still available for the event there are many who have their eyes on the NFL this weekend. It has been revealed that if players don’t take the game seriously that the event could be suspended and that this could be the last annual all-star game. This is a move that has increased ticket sales but caused concern with many fans. The event is being held in Honolulu, HI on January 27th. In addition to looking to the Pro Bowl event, most football fans are gearing up for next weekend’s Super Bowl in New Orleans. Tickets are still available for the February 3rd event for those who are looking to see the biggest game of the year and the matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens. There are still both traditional tickets and VIP passes available for the event.

While many are looking to get their tickets to these two big NFL events; another big event that many are clamoring for tickets to another NFL centered event and for is the annual Bay to Breakers event in San Francisco, California. The event is designed to focus on community and local pride and has been one of the biggest events in the city of San Francisco for years. It was announced this week that tickets for the annual event which includes costume contests and a 12k run/walk event are now on sale. This is the 102nd annual event. Tickets are now open to the public for the whole day of festivities with ticket prices starting at $53.00 for adults and $48.00 for kids. However those who are looking to see the event live will want to act fast as these tickets are known for selling out fast.

However one of the biggest announcements of the week came from two of the biggest rock n’ roll performers in the country; Kid Rock and Bob Seger. Both Kid Rock and rocker Bob Seger with his band the Silver Bullets revealed they would be on tour this spring for multi-city US tours. During both of their tours the rockers will cross paths in both Fargo, ND and St. Paul, MN and will co-headline a pair of US shows. These shows promise to be some of the biggest in the music industry and only two co-headlining events will be part of their tours.
