Another big announcement came from the multi-talented iconic singer and songwriter Jackson Browne. Manilow, Luke Bryan and Super Bowl

This week while many in the sports world are still gearing up for the upcoming Super Bowl, the world of live entertainment has also been presented with several big announcements from the music world. Country super star Luke Bryan revealed this week that after selling out the first leg of his “Dirt Road Diaries Tour” which he is currently on, he would be adding additional shows to the tour to help deliver his fun, high energy sound to more fans across the country. The first leg of the tour is scheduled to end on March 23rd. This new summer leg will add 35 dates to the tour, beginning on May 17th in Virginia Beach, VA and will keep the performer on the road throughout October of 2013. Tickets for the new leg of the tour go on sale this week.

One of the other big announcements of the week came from Crosby Stills and Nash. The iconic folk rock band revealed that they would be hitting the road for an upcoming 2013 tour. This tour will take the band throughout the United States in 23 different stops as they deliver some of their biggest songs from the past few decades and some of their latest recordings. This new tour will be visiting some of the biggest cities in the country and bringing fans of the group up close and personal with the folk rock veterans. Another big announcement from a rock icon came this week as well, only this one had to do with the Broadway stage. Famed singer and songwriter Barry Mainlow will be kicking off his new show this week on January 24th. The event, titled Manilow on Broadway, will feature a full concert of pop hits from the singer and will take place at the St. James Theatre. The world of entertainment is back in full swing after the New Year and now entertainment fans of all types are being treated to special events that are sure to make 2013 an exciting year. One of the biggest ticketing announcements of the year so far came from the world of sports as the NHL revealed that the lockout for the 2012-2013 season is now officially over as the league and players have finally reached an agreement. Although many assumed the season would be over for good, a portion of the regular season will still be played in 2013. Hockey Tickets will be going on sale this week after the official schedule is released and games are expected to begin January 19th. Those who have been waiting months for the season to take place will not want to miss out on this opportunity to see NHL action for the first time in nearly a year.

In the world of live theatre there is also plenty of action going on as this week, on January 8th the Broadway premier of Water by the Spoonful. The play follows the story of an American soldier after returning home from the war in Iraq. It was also revealed this week that the sequel to this play and the third book in the trilogy from author Davis McCallum, titled, Song Plays Last, will hit the Chicago theatre stage this April with tickets going on sale later this year. The highly anticipated theatrical production from the Pulitzer-Prize winning book opens on Off-Broadway on Tuesday and is being hosted by Second Stage theatre. Those who are looking to get tickets to the highly acclaimed production will find tickets on sale now.

While fans and critics alike are waiting anxiously for the premier of Water by the Spoonful; one of the biggest ticketing announcements of the week came with the reveal that single day ticket passes for the Bayou Country Superfest will be going on sale Wednesday January 9th.
