This week, the world of live entertainment was all about sports. The NHL officially returned this weekend and welcomed back their season after a long hiatus due to the NHL lockout. However, an even bigger event was held for sports fans this weekend as both the AFC and NFC championship games took place over the weekend to determine what two teams would be heading to the Superbowl. After two close and exciting match ups, it was the San Francisco 49ers who came out on top against the Atlanta Falcons and the Baltimore Ravens who outperformed the New England Patriots to make their way to the biggest game of the season.
This years Super Bowl game will be one of the most watched in years as for the first time in history; two head coaches who are also brothers will be facing off against one another in the championship game. This will also be the last game of Baltimore Raven’s linebacker Ray Lewis; a 17 year veteran of the team and the player with the current longest career in the NFL.
