This week, the world of live entertainment was all about sports. The NHL officially returned this weekend and welcomed back their season after a long hiatus due to the NHL lockout. With the regular season schedule now in full swing; fans can get tickets to see all of their favorite teams take the ice at home. Tickets are now available for all NHL games and are available to the general public.

Although hockey fans were undoubtedly excited about the return of their sports season, for many sports fans all eyes were on the football field. This is because this weekend, Sunday January 27th is the annual NFL Pro Bowl. This football all-star event features the top players of the league facing off against each other in an AFC vs. NFC competition to determine which of the two conferences in the best in the league. With top players from all of the teams in the sport, with the exception of players from the two teams attending the Superbowl, football fans will not want to miss out on this live event. The game, which is being held at the Aloha Stadium in Hawaii will take place on Sunday January 27th and with official line ups now set; tickets are still available for those looking to see the action live.

However, an even bigger event was held for sports fans this weekend as both the AFC and NFC championship games took place over the weekend to determine what two teams would be heading to the Superbowl. After two close and exciting match ups, it was the San Francisco 49ers who came out on top against the Atlanta Falcons and the Baltimore Ravens who outperformed the New England Patriots to make their way to the biggest game of the season.

This years Super Bowl game will be one of the most watched in years as for the first time in history; two head coaches who are also brothers will be facing off against one another in the championship game. This will also be the last game of Baltimore Raven’s linebacker Ray Lewis; a 17 year veteran of the team and the player with the current longest career in the NFL. In the entertainment world a great deal of buzz has been surrounding film adaption of the best-selling book series, Fifty Shades of Grey, with millions of fans of the novels anxiously awaiting movie news and to find out who will be cast in the film’s coveted leading roles. While the movie adaptation is still far off, fans of the erotic story have been delivered a special treat this week as it was announces that 50 Shades! The Musical; a musical production based on the best-selling E.L. James books will be given a New York City premier date. The production, which features 11 original songs, will feature a ladies book club that decides to read the book together and provide their own hilarious interpretation of the novel. The musical will make its New York premier this week; January 11th at the Gramercy Theatre; tickets for the production are on sale now and available to the public.

A different type of excitement has been surrounding the sports world as the NHL is officially back for the remainder of the 2013 season. Tickets for the new schedule of NHL games are now officially on sale and available to the public. Due to some scheduling difficulties as a result of the several month long lockout, fans will want to pay close attention to the new schedules when buying their NHL tickets. In other sports news, the NFL playoffs kicked off this past week. This means that in only a few short weeks NFL fans will be able to see the biggest game of the year when the 2013 Super Bowl takes place. Although the teams for the event have yet to be chosen, tickets for Super Bowl XL VII are on sale now. Meanwhile the rock world was treated to some excitement of its own when the indie-rock group Built To Spill made an announcement this week. The veteran rock band revealed that they will be heading out on the road for 2013 in a brand new live tour event.
