As many have found that the return of the normal Broadway show schedule is still being halted due to the after effects of Hurricane Sandy, others are focusing their attention to the Broadway productions that will be hitting the stage next season, as fans around the country are starting to get a preview of some of the most anticipated plays of the 2013 season. One of these plays is the unique production of I Love Lucy, a play that has been designed to reveal a behind the scenes look at the creation and filming of the beloved television shows put on by Lucille Ball and her husband Desi Arnez. This production, which is currently stationed in Chicago and the Chicago Theatre for two weeks, has many talking about this unique take on the classic television show. Those looking to see the show before it settles in New York next year can catch the production now in Chicago, where tickets are still on sale.

While many are looking to this light hearted production as one of the most anticipated for next year’s crop of new plays, there is a darker production that has been getting even more attention. After a wildly successful preview engagement earlier in the month the Broadway Production of Jekyll and Hyde has been garnering the attention of audiences from all over the country. The play recently went on the road, beginning in San Diego’s Civic Theatre to embark on its nation-wide tour before finding its permanent home on Broadway. This 25 week national tour will take the production to cities such as Houston, Tampa, Buffalo, Charlotte, Washington D.C>, Dallas, Durham, Oklahoma City, Tulsa and Los Angeles.

The play not only features electric performances of talents such as Constantine Maroulis, Teal Wicks and Laird Mackintosh, but also a highly anticipated performance from Grammy-nominated R&B star Deborah Cox. The singer will be taking on the role of Lucy in this production based on the novella “The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.” Fans who want to see this famed story brought to life in this revamping of the original Tony winning Broadway production will want to act quickly, as tickets for the nation-wide tour are limited and will only be available for a short time.
