This week the world of entertainment has been focused on the holiday season; with many of the biggest touring acts in music right now taking a break to enjoy the holidays at home. While most musical acts took a few days off from their tours before gearing up for touring action in 2013; the theatrical world was a buzz this holiday season with hit live theater musicals about the holidays from A Christmas Story to Elf and How the Grinch Stole Christmas are all heading into their final week of performances before the holiday season comes to a close. Most of these Broadway productions are only slated to play through the first of the year, so fans will want to get their tickets now before these plays close until next holiday season.

While there has been minimal news from the music and theater world around the holiday season, the professional sports world has been in full swing. With regular season NBA games lasting through the holidays; there has been plenty of basketball action to keep fans excited. With the New Year approaching it also means that more of the big bowl games on on the horizon. With several bowl games already played, some of the biggest ones yet, including the Cotton Bowl, Orange Bowl, Rose Bowl and the BCS National Championship are all set to kick off around the New Year. Tickets are still available for college football fans who want to get in on all of this action during bowl season.

Meanwhile, many sports fans have their eyes set of the NFL as the professional football league inches closet to playoff time. With the last weekend of the regular season of the NFL approaches and with many teams battling not only for a playoff appearance but for home field advantages and seeding this week, fans of the NFL can expect all types of action in the upcoming week. Furthermore, the last week of the regular season also means that NFL playoff tickets are on the horizon and that after next week fans looking to see their favorite teams take the field in the playoffs will be able to get tickets to see the playoffs live. Since most playoff locations are determined by the rank and seeding of the teams still left in play; most playoff spots will not be revealed until next week; when fans will be able to buy tickets to see their favorite teams play. This week the entertainment world was given several big announcements regarding upcoming events in the theatre, sports and music realms. The announcement began with a big reveal from the Broadway world when the highly anticipated musical Golden Boy opened up on Broadway this week. The 1937 story received a makeover and retelling that will bring the classic tale to life in a whole new way. The new production will feature former War Horse star Seth Numrich in the starring role. The premier of the new Broadway musical is set for this week and tickets for those looking to see the event live on the Broadway stage are now available to the public.

Meanwhile, the final match ups for the 2013 college bowl series was announced earlier this week and it was revealed that the BCS title showdown would take place between top ranked Notre Dame; and number two team Alabama. Ticket sales have already set records for this upcoming matchup so those who are looking to get tickets to see the national championships live will want to act quickly. Along with the announcement about the BCS title game; match ups for the Cotton, Chik-Fil-A, Rose Bowl and Fiesta Bowl; all big college bowl games were also revealed. All current bowl game tickets are now on sale and available to the public just in time for bowl season which is set to kick off after the holidays.

While announcements from the sports and theatre world have had many fans excited, no announcement matched the recent reveal from Stevie Nicks and her band Fleetwood Mac. The iconic rock group announced this week that they will be heading out on a 34 day tour across North America and visit venues in both the United States and Canada. It was also revealed that singer Stevie Nicks and guitarist Lindsey Buckingham will be reuniting their partnership to create new material for the tour. This will be the first time in more than a decade that the two musicians have worked together. This tour will mark one of the first tours for the group in years and has fans of the group anxious to hear some of the band’s classic hits as well as new songs set to be released on the band’s upcoming 2013 album. The tour will kick off in early 2013 and tickets for the concert event will go on
