While it may be ‘March Madness’ time for college basketball fans, it doesn’t mean that in the world of live entertainment there aren’t other big announcements being released in the month of March. In fact this week one of the hottest rock bands in music today, The National, made a major announcement that has fans of all ages excited about March. The veteran rock group announced that on May 21st they would be releasing their sixth studio album and in order to support that new album they would be heading out on a tour around the country this summer. During this summer time tour, the group will be stopping at some of the biggest venues in the entire country. This includes the new Barclays Center in Brooklyn, on June 5th, the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on August 10th and the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado on September 17th. Tickets for these events go on sale this week, so fans of the group will want to act fast if they are looking to see the group take the stage live.

While there is no denying that many rock fans are excited to see The National in their new summer time tour, no tour announcement could top the recent announcement from The Eagles. The iconic rock group, who has been performing since the 1970s, recently announced that they would be getting back together to head out on the road for a tour that promises to be unlike any other. This tour, called the “History Tour” is designed to promote their new “History of the Eagles” documentary which will be premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January. The new tour event will take the band to 11 different venues across the country and will feature the group performing some of the biggest hits during their history as a band. Tickets for the event go on sale next week to the public and are expected to sell out fast. This week, rapper Big Boi from the group Outkast revealed that he would be hitting the road later this month for a new tour promoting his recent album, “Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors.” The new tour will take the rapper to venues across North America is a tour he calls his “Shoes for Running Tour.” The multi-talented performer will be visiting some of the largest concert venues in the United States during this concert tour event and tickets are on sale now.

Also, this week, tickets went on sale for the new 2013 show for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. The veteran rock band will be making a one time show appearance this summer at the Milwaukee based Summerfest Music Festival, which is the largest music festival in the entire world. The band will be holding their concert at the Marcus Amphitheater in Milwaukee as one of the headlining events of the two week music festival. Tickets for the concert are on sale now; those who want to see Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers in this one time concert event will want to act fast.

While these veteran rockers have released info regarding their much anticipated performance, another big name rock group, The Eagles has also announced big ticket and touring need. The legendary rock group announced this week they will be taking the road this spring to tour around the country hot off the heels of their new two-part Showtime documentary. Before taking the road for a nine-city run, the band will perform together for a massive show in Las Vegas on March 23rd. During the tour, the group will visit some of the biggest venues in the entire country and for select performances will have special musical guests Joe Walsh and Bob Seger on the road with them. Tickets for these big performances are on sale now, but are expected to sell out quickly so fans who are looking to see the iconic rockers will want to act fast when getting their tickets.
