This week it was revealed that the hit band Phish would be taking the road in a new live tour event. The wildly popular jam band has been part of the music scene for years and is often hailed as one of the most popular bands to see live in concert. Much to the delight of fans from all over the country, the Vermont-based rockers will be heading out on a tour that will start this summer. The 2013 Phish summer tour event will features several multiple-night stays in venues such as Commerce City, Colorado, Saratoga Springs and San Francisco. The band will be performing three nights in a row during these three spots. Although the band is making a handful of several night residencies, fans should still get their tickets early as this group is known for selling out some of the biggest arenas in the country fast night after night. At the annual South by Southwest music festival in Austin, Texas, Yahoo! announced they would be starting a new annual music festival, known as the On The Road Music Festival. The first annual festival will be a mobile music festival that will travel to cities both in the United States and in Europe.

The 2013 inaugural event will be headlined by acts such as Jay Z, Kendrick Lamar, Fun and The Lumineers. Select locations will also have appearances from Justin Timberlake and Frank Ocean as well. The 2013 On the Road Music Festival will kick off in New York City on May 3rd and will end in London on July 14th. With ticketing announcements for the 2013 music festival season in full swing, many music fans have been anxiously awaiting news about their favorite music festivals. Fortunately for fans, this week marked the reveal of the 2013 Firefly Festival concert lineup. This is the second annual Firefly Festival and the show hopes to follow in the footsteps of its wildly successful first year. The festival, which takes place at the Woodlands of the Dover International Speedway is scheduled to take place from June 21-23rd. The festival is slated to have acts such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Foster the People and More. Tickets and all day passes for the event will go on sale this month, but those who want to attend the festival live will want to act fast as it is expected to sell out.

While many are excited for the Firefly Music Festival lineup announcement, in terms of big live music announcements for the year, there is no bigger reveal than the 2013 Bonnaroo Music Festival. As one of the biggest music festivals in the industry today, the announcement had many excited for the upcoming concert event. As one of the country’s largest music festivals, fans can expect this to be a big concert event. The lineup of the 2013 festival was revealed over an hour long YouTube broadcast that was hosted by Weird Al Yankovic. The 2013 festival is scheduled to take place from June 13th-June 16th and will take place once again in Manchester, Tennessee. The 2013 Bonnaroo Festival acts include Mumford and Sons, R. Spring Around The Corner

With spring right around the corner, it means that its once again the time of year for music festival tickets to go on sale. This week three of the biggest music festivals announced their ticket sales and it was revealed that some of the biggest acts in music will once again be heading to these all day festivals this summer. One of the first announcements for late spring music festivals came from the Sweetlife Festival. This annual music festival is held at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD every year and this year will take place on May 11th. Headliners of the event include Passion Hit, Solange, the Yeah Yeah Teahs and Kendrick Lamar. Tickets for the event go on sale Friday, February 8th to the public.

Another big music festival announcement came from down south at the Shaky Knees Music Festival. This annual Atlanta music festival will be taking place May 4-5 and the official line up will be featuring acts such as Gary Clark Jr. and the wildly popular band The Lumineers. Tickets for the annual event will be going on sale February 7th. Fans will be able to buy two day passes to the event which will give them access to all three concert stages and all of the festival activities.

Later on in the month of May, The Lumineers will also be playing at the Sasquatch Music Festival. This Memorial Day weekend music festival will last for four days and is held at the world renowned Gorge in Quincy, Washington. In addition to hosting The Lumineers the festival will also be hosting groups such as the Postal Service, Vampire Weekend, Mumford and Sons, and Dropkick Murphy’s. Ticket will go on sale later in the month; but fans will want to make sure they act fast as this annual music festival is known for selling out.
