This week more information on one of the biggest musical events of the year, Lollapalooza, was released. It was revealed that the annual festival will be returning once again this year to Grant Park in Chicago from August 2nd-4th. The festival will have eight different stages of performers and once again will feature a massive line up of bands. This week the daily line ups for the event were revealed with top performers such as The Killers, Mumford and Sons, The Postal Service and more all making appearances at the event. As the festival plans for the event to sell out, they will be releasing 60,000 single day tickets for Wednesday April 3rd for the festival. Other tickets for the event, including passes will go on sale at the end of this week.

While many are getting up for the annual Lollapalooza event, one of the biggest announcements of the week was undoubtedly the announcement from hit pop group The Jonas Brothers. The pop trio has announced that they will be heading out on their first North American Tour in more than three years, beginning this summer. The band has just announced their Jonas Brothers Live tour, which is set to kick off on July 10th in Chicago, Illinois. The tour will keep the band on the road throughout most of the summer and will include stops in 25 different cities. The band which announced the tour on the same day they released their new single “Pom Poms,” revealed that the tour will feature new material they have been recording during their touring hiatus as well as performances of some of their biggest hits to date.

The tour will include stops in several big cities such as Las Vegas, Chicago, LA and Toronto. Tickets for the North American tour go on sale next week and fans are encouraged to act quickly to get their tickets to see the events unfold live, with a history of selling out some of the biggest venues in the country, there is no arguing that their return to the stage is sure to bring fans in, in droves. Will you be getting your tickets to see the Jonas Brothers live when they come to a city near you?

While many bands have already announced their spring touring plans, a number of bands are still announcing new dates.  New York based duo MGMT have recently announced an 18-date tour.  The band is set to release their third album in June, and their tour takes them from University Park, Pennsylvania, home of Penn State University, on April 26 to the Bunbury Music Festival on July 13 in Cincinnati, Ohio.  The band is set to play 15 headlining shows across North America in April and May and is slated to play three festivals, Firefly in Dover, Delaware, Kanrocksas in Kansas City, Kansas, and the aforementioned Bunbury in Cincinnati.  Tickets for some dates are already on sale while others are set to go on sale within the coming days.

Another act set to hit the road this spring is Big Boi.  Big Boi, a member of the widely critically acclaimed and incredibly successful hip-hop duo OutKast, is hitting the road in support of his second album, Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors.  Big Boi launches his 44-date tour on April 18 at the Georgia Theatre in Athens, Georgia.  Throughout the course of his tour, he plays a number of headlining shows, as well as some of the most popular festivals, including the Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis, Tennessee, Summer Camp Music Festival in Chillicothe, Illinois, and North by Northeast in Toronto, Ontario.  Big Boi wraps up his tour in Brooklyn at Celebrate Brooklyn in Prospect Park on June 20.  Tickets for some dates are already available; however, not all dates have tickets on sale, so be sure to check with your local ticket provider.

Finally, early 21st century indie rock act The Postal Service have added dates to their 2013 tour, the band’s first since 2013.  In addition to the large number of shows previously announced including a pair at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, the band has added six additional dates.  The band recently added a second show in Berkeley, California’s Greek Theater, as well as shows in Pomona, California; Kansas City, Missouri; St. Paul, Minnesota; Austin, Texas; and Houston, Texas.  The group is set to begin their tour on April 9 at the Grand Sierra Theatre in Reno, Nevada before closing up their tour in St. Paul, Minnesota at the Roy Wilkins Auditorium on August 2.  You are not going to want to miss any of these three bands when they come to a city near you.
