The world of entertainment is back in full swing after the New Year and now entertainment fans of all types are being treated to special events that are sure to make 2013 an exciting year. One of the biggest ticketing announcements of the year so far came from the world of sports as the NHL revealed that the lockout for the 2012-2013 season is now officially over as the league and players have finally reached an agreement. Although many assumed the season would be over for good, a portion of the regular season will still be played in 2013. Hockey Tickets will be going on sale this week after the official schedule is released and games are expected to begin January 19th. Those who have been waiting months for the season to take place will not want to miss out on this opportunity to see NHL action for the first time in nearly a year.

In the world of live theatre there is also plenty of action going on as this week, on January 8th the Broadway premier of Water by the Spoonful. The play follows the story of an American soldier after returning home from the war in Iraq. It was also revealed this week that the sequel to this play and the third book in the trilogy from author Davis McCallum, titled, Song Plays Last, will hit the Chicago theatre stage this April with tickets going on sale later this year. The highly anticipated theatrical production from the Pulitzer-Prize winning book opens on Off-Broadway on Tuesday and is being hosted by Second Stage theatre. Those who are looking to get tickets to the highly acclaimed production will find tickets on sale now.

While fans and critics alike are waiting anxiously for the premier of Water by the Spoonful; one of the biggest ticketing announcements of the week came with the reveal that single day ticket passes for the Bayou Country Superfest will be going on sale Wednesday January 9th. Headliners for this year’s festival include Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan, the Zac Brown Band and Lady Antebellum. The annual concert festival will be held Saturday May 25th and Sunday May 26th at Tiger Stadium. Those who are looking to get tickets to the event will want to make sure they act fast when tickets go on sale this Wednesday January 9th so they can see all of the action live.

This week, country fans were treated to several big announcements in terms of upcoming tours and performances. Country star, Carrie Underwood announced that she would be adding dates to her current Blown Away Tour, that was schedules to wrap up before Christmas of 2012. The country singer will hit the road in 2013 and visit 40 additional cities and provide fans with 100 opportunities to see the star live. The singer announced the official stops and dates for the new leg of her tour which will kick of February 13th. Tickets for the event also came on sale this week, so fans will want to get their seats for her concert experience soon.

Meanwhile another big female country star, also announced tickets would be one sale for her tour this week as well. This announcement came from country crooner Taylor Swift. The singer will be taking the road beginning in 2013 for her “Red Tour” which will feature songs from her new hit album “Red.” Tickets are now on sale but fans will want to act fast as the singer is notorious for quickly selling out some of the biggest venues in the entire world.

While Taylor Swift announced the sale of her tickets this week, country signer and legendary superstar Kenny Chesney made an announcement of his on. On November 8th the singer took to the radio to announce his new No Shoes Nation Tour live on the airwaves. Fans of the singer were thrilled to hear the performer would be hitting the road after a brief touring hiatus. The tour is currently slated to visit 17 different stadiums across the nation and will kick off in Tampa, Florida on March 16th. Chesney won’t be alone on this tour either, the singer will be jointed by other big name country artists including Eric Church, the Eli Young Band, and Kacey Musgraves. The group, the Zac Brown Band will also make some select appearances during the tour as well. With some of the biggest names in country coming together for this 2013 event, and with only 17 stops on the tours, those looking to get tickets will not want to wait.

Tickets are expected to go on sale sometime in the next week so fans will get their chance to see this huge tour lie and in person.
