Death From Above 1979 and Zac Brown Band News

This week, the Canadian group, Death From Above 1979 revealed that the will be heading out on a new fall world tour event. The group has already announced a new album and are planning on embarking on a new fall world tour to support this effort. This will be the band’s first album in more than ten years. The new album is going to be called The Physical World, and it is set to be released September 9th. The tour supporting this album will start on September 6th. The group will kick this event off at the Riot Fest Toronto in the band’s home town.

From there, the group will travel the UK for 12 different stops before they return to North America. During this North American jaunt, they will make stops in Nashville, Chicago, Las Vegas and New York. Tickets are on sale now for this exciting new tour event.

Steely Dan and Zac Brown Band News

This week the Zac Brown Band revealed that they will be adding a second show to their massive Fenway Park event. The group revealed that they will be adding a second Boston date to their tour after selling out the massive venue in just minutes. This makes the group only the second country act to sell out the 37,000 seat ballpark. The rock/country group will then head out to several other tour stops throughout the spring and summer that will take them around the United States. This includes stops in Lincoln, NE on May 24th and 20 additional shows in major amphitheaters around the country. The second Fenway Park concert is scheduled for June 27th. Tickets for these and other shows for the group are on sale now to the public.

This week one of the biggest announcements of the week came from Steely Dan. The group revealed that they will be heading out on a new tour event that will officially kick off this summer. The tour will start in Portland, Oregon on July 2nd, and will be called the “Jamalot Ever After Tour.” After kicking off this July, the rockers will head out on the road to 47 different stops throughout the United States and Canada. During this outing, the band will be performing some of their biggest hits to date as well as some of their latest recordings. The duo, who has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, is planning on delivering fans with live performances of what have been some of their most popular songs.

This week, there were several big announcements regarding upcoming tour events from some of today’s most popular artists. One of the first big announcements came from famous folk-pop artist Brett Dennen. The singer and songwriter just revealed that he will be heading out on a new North American theater tour event in support of his album “Smoke and Mirrors.” This new tour event will precede the artist’s late spring European tour. The singer and California native will start off on a Sun Cruise starting February 14th through February 18th
before returning to the states to start his US tour. The tour will officially kick off on February 20th in Birmingham, Alabama. After kicking off this tour, the singer will be visiting 23 major markets during his outing. The domestic road trip will end on April 13th in Fort Lauderdale at the Tortuga Music Festival.

In other tour news, the group the Zac Brown Band has just revealed they will be keeping their current tour efforts going into 2014. The band is currently spending the holiday season on the road and is also planning on doing several shows in the new year. Last week the band released their latest album “The Grohl Sessions Vol. 1.” Behind this unveiling the group will be performing several Las Vegas shows on January 11th-12th as well as a January 29th concert in Chattanooga, TN. The group has also revealed that they will be performing several summer dates in 2014 as well. Tickets are on sale now to see the Zac Brown Band live.

This week, Christina Perri revealed that she will be heading out on a new tour event. The singer revealed that she will be heading out on a spring club and theater tour across North America. This tour event will be called the “Head or Heart” tour. The singer will be heading out to support her sophomore album of the same name. The performer will not only sing but play piano, guitar and bass during the event. The tour will officially kick off in Denver, Colorado on April 4th. From there the performer will be heading out to a 32 city trek across the United States. This includes stops in several big markets including a two night step on April 16th-17th in New York City. The tour will officially wrap up in Vancouver, British Columbia on May 26th. Tickets go on sale now for those who want to see the performer take the stage live in this new tour event.

Weekend Concert Update

This week the alternative rock group Mazzy Star, made a major tour announcement that has their fans reeling over the opportunity to see the group perform live. The outfit will be visiting theaters in some of the biggest major markets in North America on a new tour event that will be supporting their upcoming fall album “Seasons of Your Day.” The band’s new tour will officially kick off on November 3rd, with a performance in Portland, Oregon. From there the band will stay on the road and visit 14 different cities across the coast before they wrap up their tour on November 23rd in Silver Spring, Maryland. This is the first time that the band will be touring in support of a new album in more than a decade as their last new record was released in 1996 with “Among My Swan.” Tickets for this exciting opportunity to see Mazzy Star perform live are on sale now.

The world of entertainment is back in full swing after the New Year and now entertainment fans of all types are being treated to special events that are sure to make 2013 an exciting year. One of the biggest ticketing announcements of the year so far came from the world of sports as the NHL revealed that the lockout for the 2012-2013 season is now officially over as the league and players have finally reached an agreement. Although many assumed the season would be over for good, a portion of the regular season will still be played in 2013. Hockey Tickets will be going on sale this week after the official schedule is released and games are expected to begin January 19th. Those who have been waiting months for the season to take place will not want to miss out on this opportunity to see NHL action for the first time in nearly a year.
